Not the FUEL version, but it is brushless and it's a great deal for a spare impact or a gift this Christmas.

I saw at HD last night that they have the Makita brushless impacts and drills with 1 3ah battery and a bag for the same price. I imagine dewalt will be have the same.

This has more torque than the similar Dewalt and I believe also more than the Makita

Does it have the same issues holding on to bits that gen 3 fuels have?

Not sure what you're referring to. I'm not bias towards any brand, just stating facts. Care to elaborate on your question?

Bits pop out of the collet on the third gen fuels, If you use drill bits or any large bit when you pull it back out the bit will come out. There are lots of videos on youtube about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GhnSwg5840

The collet on the impact posted here is not the same "quick insert" and does not seem to have the same issue as the Gen 3 FUEL impacts.

This is a great impact driver. I picked one up over the summer and it's a beast. Easily drills or drives fasteners, and just to test I threw a socket adapter and a 24mm socket on and it removed the blades from my riding mower. It also easily removed lugs off my car that were torqued to 80ft/lbs. I believe it's rated at 1500in/lbs which translates to 125ft/lbs and I absolutely believe that.

I got one of these at this price about half a year ago and use it for lugs on my car and works perfect for that. Good amount of torque and amazing price. Battery lasts a while too!
