Amazon has Plants vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville for XBox ONE $26.66 (plus tax) after $6.09 coupon applied at checkout. This is for the physical disc and is the cheapest it's been. Target will have it for $25 per the Black Friday flyer but if you want it now here it is!

They also include an Apex Legends Starter Pack for free with any purchase over $19.99 on select video games.

Sadly, the game got much worse with 2. The original was nearly perfect; well developed maps, balanced teams, fun characters. Too bad they did what most devs do these days: focus far too much on silly skins and other useless trash instead of just making a good base game. I'll try it when it's free on GamePass though.

Agreed, the first game was one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. 2 was a broken, buggy, wonky, half-baked copy... but it was still interesting. This one is just... bland. Maps are boring, ugly, and they added a sprint feature instead of designing them properly. Variants are completely gone making the game about halfway deep and the brilliance that was Gardens and Graveyards is now a basic Overwatch 'push the payload' mode. Also, game is still broken and buggy; the whole game freezes and lags when you use an ability. Avoid.

This isn't a downgrade, or an upgrade. They've basically moved from being a cartoony Battlefield straight into Overwatch territory, but with a significant engine (Frostbyte 3) upgrade. Earing coins for cosmetics is also much stingier. The time-to-kill is still painfully slow, weapon bloom is still huge, and the hero specials are all on very short timers, so it's very kiddie/casual friendly.

If you're planning on playing local split screen, be advised that feature is currently broken. Their most recent update claimed to have fixed this problem. Sadly, it did not. I bought the pre-launch version a couple of months ago to take advantage of the lower price and extra stuff. Was able to play local split screen with my kids for the first week only. After that I kept getting error messages when trying to play split screen. An online search indicated a lot people were having the same problem. It's been over 2 months now and it's still broken. Next update, hopefully.

That explains why my son stopped playing this game after an hour. Also wondered why the devs was selling it for discount a month before release date. They didnt want people to try out the multiplayer that became active on official release date.

I can attest to your experience. My son loves playing the first game. It never crashed on him. This new game crashed about every match he played online.

The pre-launch version rolled out the features incrementally on a weekly basis if I remember correctly. The last feature to become active was online multiplayer which is still broken. I can only guess they did the pre-launch in order to garner positive reviews from loyal fans who have not experienced the problems that needed to be fixed after official launch.
