How's the wireless feature on this unit? Comparable to a wired unit? Barely do any gaming so latency isnt a huge concern

From all the research I did - it's mixed response. I am also waiting to test how it works. Just ordered and shared the deal.

Great projector, but qc issues ABOUND with their refurb units. I would've absolutely bought one, but too many horror stories of 5+ returns to get a working unit with no flaws.

i bought one 4 months ago, 2 weeks into purchase bulb died so projector wouldn't kick on.. they overnighted one to me and been golden ever since. 4k is amazing, black levels are great, 2 year warranty so I'm happy with purchase.

Hows your experience with the wireless HD if you use it?

Can I ask where did you find those reviews?

I'm looking to place an order today and want to see what I'm getting myself into :-)

How would this compare to a higher end oled tv?

With respect to what? Picture quality? Poorly. Nothing beats OLED on blacks and contrast. HDR is another area that projectors don't do well, even very high end ones, because it's difficult to control how much light you throw on different parts of the screen (i.e. the black areas of picture can never be 0 light, where an OLED literally is... it turns off the pixels).

Where projectors excel is picture size. I have a 65" OLED in living room, yet find myself watching the 150" projector screen in entertainment room far more often. Every now and then tough, I put on some HDR content on the OLED to drool over the picture.

How's gaming on a projector like this? I had the 8350 and I loved it on that. I'm basically between something like this and the oled c9

That will depend on the projector, mode you're running in, and the type of gaming you do. I do lots of console gaming on my projector with ~50ms input lag, and I don't have any issues. I don't play any competitive FPS though (that's what the PC is for...).

This particular model looks to be pretty good on input lag. From Projector Central:

"Input Lag. Input lag varies, depending on the settings for 4K enhancement and FI. Surprisingly, the setting for Fine and Fast mode makes no difference. With 4K enhancement on, FI is not available, and the lag is 28 ms. With 4K enhancement off, the lag varies with the FI setting, from 29 ms with FI Off, to 68 ms for Low, to 104 ms for Normal or High."

I wouldn't get this one for gaming. 60fps 4k projectors are starting to come out,
Epson 3200 and 3800. I don't think this projector will accept a 4k signal from a ps4/Xbox.

I have Epson 8350 and used it for past 8 years replaced 2 bulbs and still works... I want to up grade my unite and the price looks great... Amazon reviews are not looking so good... this model seems to have some power supply issue. The unite shuts down and won't turn on. Also, saw on review that wireless is not working consistently but I do not care about wireless.

Not sure what to do :-(.

In the description it mentions:

"This unit may not include the same software or paper pack as new models"

What does it mean: may not include the same software... paper pack as new models make sense... what does it mean not include the same software?

About to pull the trigger on this one, upgrading from an epson 2030 that I've had for 5 years.
I'd like the 5050, but this one is less than half that price.
