I want to know about the controls of this mouse. Is it hard to configure and use?

Default works fine unless you want specific stuff mapped to the side keys.

Is there a difference with this model compared to the older G502? Or is it the same?

This isn't a great mouse for FPS. It's incredibly heavy compared to mice like the Glorious Model O and Cooler Master MM710.

I mostly only play Counter Strike, Overwatch, and Destiny 2, and pretty casually at that (like, at 30-60 fps). Is this mouse too much for my requirements, and should I go for a cheaper mouse which has multiple buttons, because that's what got my attention in the first place.

I'm going to grab one. Will use my old MX518 as backup, which is starting to wear out. Any comparisons?

Yes, this wired g502 hero is recognized by LGS. I believe only the lightspeed version of the g502 requires ghub.
Thanks. I didn't want to run both if I could help it, and I'm trying to put off using G-hub, since this works relatively problem-free.

Thanks for asking. I asked in the last thread and never got an answer. This is exactly what I was hoping for since my 710 keyboard isn't supported in g-hub and like you don't want to run 2 pieces of software.

Great deal! Even better than the last.
Awesome sensor!
If you need a mouse, the only reason to not get this one is if the 11 buttons is a turn off.
Some people find it difficult to only hit the one you want or just hit one accidentally while moving.
5 buttons mice are a safer spot.

I don't know how much cheaper you can get without sacrificing something else. I have the original and I love it. I quickly found uses for the extra buttons in other apps besides games. For instance, I mapped the 2 buttons next to left click to trash/archive emails in Gmail when my browser is open. Same buttons with G-Shift close and reopen browser tabs.
