I hate how much companies have started charging for blu-ray players. Honestly if you're in the market for one the Xbox one s makes a better proposition for 50 more on Black Friday or even 100 more currently. 150 for a device that plays just Blu-ray's seems crazy to me

Depends on the quality you're looking for I guess.
For example, though I don't have a ton of use for it yet, I'd love to get a BR player that is also Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision capable. What stinks is I have to spend a relative fortune to get those compared to base models. The Xbox One I don't believe does those things well, if at all.

A couple of notes...

I have two of this model as well as an m9500 and m7500 so I'm familiar. If you have a 2016 or newer Samsung TV with a One Remote, this model has a nearly identical interface and operates seamlessly for most things with the TV's remote.

Performance on these is wonderful and the WiFi is strong making this a good streaming device as well.

Samsung is discontinuing 4k player production and this is the last model still being produced which is fine as it was the sweet spot in their lineup anyways.

This is your last chance to grab a model that matches up, and was built for, your newer Samsung TV.

It's interesting too cuz I'm always making fun of people who complain about the Xbox one s digital that does not have the Blu-ray player. But seeing how much just a Blu-ray player costs is incredible.

Wait... Just to be clear: this thing costs $150 and doesn't even have Dolby vision or Atmos?! That's the only reason I'd buy a 4k player

BB has a similar sale on the comparable Sony that, I think, has both options and is only $129.

It does have Dolby Atmos, says right in the specs on the product page.

It will not output DV locally from the disc. Be warned.

Walmart sells an exclusive model LG UBKM9 for $175 regular everyday price that is identical to the LG UBK90 which retails for $279. By identical I mean the exact same everything with the only difference being the model number. Supports both Dolby vision and Atmos. Might catch a decent BF deal on that from Walmart
