Worth an upgrading from the fenix 3 hr?
It does but I am hearing that they may go below that price on Black Friday at Amzn! Hard to believe but possibilities are out there.

What is "powercrank"?
PowerCranks are, simply, independent bicycle cranks that replace the regular cranks found on a typical bicycle or exercise machine. PowerCranks are a unique training tool to improve the benefit you receive from the time you spend training. Since 90% of an athlete's time is spent training, preparing for competition, this makes PowerCranks particularly effective in enhancing competition results.

Thanks for the details. I am currently a fitbit user since past 5 yrs and use it primarily for steps, sleep tracking and heart rate. I also have a pathfinder which does some of the features that this one will have. This gives me a combination of both. The only reason i have been staying away from apple watch was the fact that i have to charge daily. Is that same with this one , if one uses the gps feature . Also howz the sleep tracking on this one compared to fitbit which recently has started giving scores to your sleep
I've had both Fitbit (Flex, Charge HR, 2..) and Fenix 3 HR and when I had Fitbit I slept a lot more bc I felt like I needed to sleep 10 hrs! When I got Garmin, I exercised a LOT more but prob slept less as I became less obsessed with the sleep metric. The Fitbit sleep metric is amazing tbh as far as the data it provides. Garmin is mediocre in this respect but it has improved. Also every single Fitbit product I've owned has died on me, aside from the Flex maybe. The Garmin build quality is truly amazing and when you see it in person on your wrist you will be blown away at the quality and the Fitbit will look and feel like a toy.
My advice: Find a 10k or half marathon to run 6-12 weeks away, look online for a training plan to follow and you will begin to appreciate what this watch has to offer especially when programming workouts and seeing your running metrics as you run (hr, cadence,..) There is so much and I don't want to get into detail but just trust me you won't want to go back to Fitbit. And you won't find a better deal for a Fenix than this one.
As far as Apple Watch or Samsung Galaxy Watch, I don't need another phone on my wrist. You can customize notifications, control music.. also the always on display is awesome so you don't have to lift your arm to see display.

The one thing is I had to relearn how to wear a watch again after going to Fenix from an Apple Watch haha.

Just bit on one from Bestbuy. 10% cash back from retail me not, Approx $6 in Bestbuy rewards and the extended return window to Jan 14 made BB the better deal.

Man, if my Fenix 3 sapphire had a single issue at all I'd pick this up in a heart beat. Such a great watch.

I'm in similar situation with my 3HR. I actually just picked up the 5x today that I ordered last night (last one the store had in stock). The HRM was all over the place fluctuating wildly while my 3HR (other wrist) was perfectly normal. I had to return it bc there were no more in store or any store in Houston area for that matter. My thinking is that I got a returned item. Debating whether to reorder online. Honestly in those two hours that I had it, I liked it. Snappier than the 3hr, automatic pairing with phone, slightly better design of certain widgets like messages with ability to reply with preprogrammed responses.. a few new features but I didn't get to play around too much with it. I think maybe if you have a 3, you might want to consider.

Just got mine yesterday from AMazon when you use your discover card you get another 5% off right now. It shipped and arrived in 1 day. The big concern for me was the size and comfort and for me it is surprisingly more comfortable then the galaxy fit I had that is curved for your wrist and smaller. It just feels right but yeah its visually big if your not use to it but I love it so far.

Wish, I had seen your comments before I ordered it from BB using rakuten. I ordered using gift cards, so cancelling and getting the refund would take longer. Well, still better than regular sales.

48 hour ownership review ...LOVE IT....Certainly a big mofo at 51mm but it wears super nice and comfortably. I haven't taken mine off ....running it 100% backlight and the battery has gone down like one notch so far. Used GPS for 2 hikes over the weekend and one time to return back to my truck in the parking lot. Worked like a charm.

I have a Samsung note 9 and no issues with notifications/synching. Played around with tons of watch faces and currently on a black/white one. Everything on the watch is super snappy and no lag.

For HR, I read that the watch takes a little amount of time before it will find a real reading. So to measure it correctly, goto the HR mode and let it scan and then wait for like 30 secs and it should settle down to a more accurate reading. The same works for exercise ..BEFORE u start the routine, just do some warm up to get the blood rushng thru the veins and then start the fitness tracker.

So I've used it for indoor rowing and loved it. I have to set up a custom for my weight lifting though so I'm still playing around .

I have a Breitling and a Tag Heuer and I don't think I'll be going back to a "regular watch" anytime soon.

Dang, missed it while I was trying to figure out how to get Amex 10% added. Hopefully comes back at this price or better for BF.
