I can't seem to find this model anywhere outside of BestBuy, thus cannot confirm whether it's TN or IPS. If it's TN, it's still a good deal, just not a great one.

Decent deal for specs, but I'd suggest you check the build quality in person. Chassis flexes a bit and not as rigid as the rog line.

Buy now (and possibly hold a couple of weeks) translates approximately to a combination of "what's your time worth?" and "what's the cost of your unmet need?"

You'll almost certainly find a deal as good or better circa BF, CM, etc.; and 'gift' return policies also tend to be much more generous during this period. Of course, the challenges for any truly great deal are: [1] hearing about the deal before the hoard, then [2] acting quickly enough to actually get the deal.

It's a TN display. Asus website for the FX505GT model clearly says that all their displays are "IPS-level", which means TN. Calling BestBuy isn't a good idea because their rep will look and see the words IPS Level and think that it means it's IPS.

Wow that's shitty marketing from Asus. Clearly meant to mislead.

Edit: There's a chance you could be wrong because this review right here [ultrabookreview.com] says theirs was 144Hz & IPS (confirmed by googling the panel's hardware ID), and the same goes for the 60Hz panel (though no hardware ID for that one).

Edit #2: Reports still say that IPS-level stands for TN. I don't know what to think anymore, this is too confusing. I'm just going to assume it's TN and hold off for now.

Note that the review you linked to was for a different model - FX505GE. This is an FX505GT.

I have the GTX 1050 model and it plays Destiny 2 no problem, so this will definitely be able to play it easily.
