Just to add that this is a dram-less drive so I'd suggest getting a drive with dram specially for a drive this size.

And there's plenty of dram less 512gb drives around this price point so I'm not so sure about the price.

I think the dram is used as a cache to speed up performance.

I like the price but I remember hearing not so good things about their sdcards so kinda leary about this.

the endurance on the 512 is 60tb's which seems sub-par.

This drive is fine for cheap systems or as a secondary SSD for games, DRAM-less is not ideal for OS usage on a primary machine.

Well dram less means the ssd doesn't have RAM inside them. And having dram makes the ssd faster specially if you're using it as your main OS drive. Dram less ones struggles managing lots of small files at the same time, which is what happens when you use it as an OS drive.

If you want a budget drive, go for SU800 by Adata or Team L5 Lite 3D (note the 3d part, important)

And if you can splurge a bit more, Crucial MX500 is an excellent drive. (These are all Sata3 budget ssds but with good performance)

The drives that you mention are with dram or dram less?

Replace a mechanical drive with this - delight and amaze.

Agonize over minutia ,obscure, and largely irrelevant, performance metrics.

Well.....🤔

I've had 2 team group SSD's, not even 1 issue even after 3-4 years. I mean, I don't copy a shit load of data, but wtf does that to their OS and apps drive?
