How'd this do in a 2.1 setup?
Wonderfully.

Nice. Thanks for the heads-up. I have a supercube 2000 that I initially got for a small media room. When I upgraded my home theater speakers I also went bigger with the subwoofer and got the Svs pb1000. I moved the supercube to my desk top and paired them to 2 def tech with 2 def tech promonitors in a 2.1 config. I used a minidsp hd to set the crossovers(because the supercube 2000 doesn't have onboard settings for it) at 100 and the supercube performed way above expectations. Underwhelming when used for a 7.2 config in a 14x 10 area but outstanding as a 2.1 desktop setup in the same room. Especially for the small form factor. It's a very clean, tight bass. Better for music than movies IMHO.

These any good for home audio?
Infinity is known for great vocals and mid range, not their subs.

I bought two that should get here Tuesday. I took a gamble for the price. If the deal is still live I'll report back in.

I considered buying this until I saw Infinity sometimes sells these for $140 brand new from time to time on ebay. I'd rather buy new with more than a 1-year warranty.

Good deal. I already have a pair of mid range subs I use for music on my main music system and would jump on this deal if I had a need. Two of these would be a great mid-level music system or first step into the world of home theater.

Once you go dual subs it is difficult to go back.

Have you tested out an infinity sub in comparison?
No, and I'm not sure you could do a apples-to-apples comparison.

10" Infinity vs 12" Dayton

200w vs 120w

34lbs vs 44lbs

Refurb vs New

31Hz–150Hz vs 25Hz -140Hz

Dayton info taken from specs here: https://www.parts-express.com/day...uctDetails

I have infinity for 4 of my speakers, but my sub is a Dayton 12" and I'm thrilled with it, and I'd do the same all over again. I'd encourage others to put another $50 with this price point and get a Dayton instead.
I have the same Dayton Audio 12. It isn't really fair to compare a 10 to a 12, but for the money, that DA 12 really pounds. Hits very low freqs, sounds clean, and has more than adequate power from the built in amp. Anyone whose budget is $150, the DA would definitely be better. There is no replacement for displacement, the 12 is going to beat the 10.

If the Infinity 12" ever drops to $150 I wouldn't hesitate to give it a try. I need another sub for my garage gym. I'm waiting to see what there is closer to BF.

I picked up the R12 for $150 a couple of months back and have it in my stealth living room system with a pair of KEF Q150s. I am quite happy with the performance as a music sub. It's not boomy or one-note as a lot of cheap subs tend to be and it's reasonably fast and articulate across all of the genres of music that I play. I may grab this one as a sub for the Yamaha DSP soundbar.
