I couldn't find anything departing DTW in April for that price. But Jan and Feb is cheap. Highs in the 50s - 60s during that time. I have a cruise around then, so I can't do it.

Why would anybody go back to Detroit if they came to Austin ?
There we go... the Detroit insult... While Austin is cool, the rest of Texas isn't exactly peachy... Also, there is a pretty rich and thriving community in SE Michigan outside of Detroit...

Another point is that DTW (airport) serves the SE Michighan, northern Ohio, and even Ontario Canada.

This is a really good deal for those that can take advantage of it. You get Delta miles as well.

For those going to Austin that doesn't know, Lockhart, TX has great BBQ and you don't have the silly line-up you have to endure in Austin... :-)

Good bbq can be found all over Texas....but the best is where you just walk in and sit down and feel like you are surrounded by friends... not wanting to talk with a mouth full. Wink

We're going off-topic, but I love BBQ (suffering here in Detroit area), but I have to say I had a really tough time finding good 'Q in El Paso. Went there twice in the last few years and both times struck-out. If you google this topic, you'll find similar critical reviews as well. I did get good 'Q in Houston, Dallas, Waco, and of course, the Austin area...although I never had time to line up at the famous Franklin...

Not too off topic....we have two Eternal Flames in Texas....one for JFK and the other is the BBQ pit......somewhere there is always smoke and meat .....magic happening.

Texas is known for its brisket but some other states have some mighty fine renditions of smoked pork .... I just had the best ribs ever at a gas station/carry out in Arkansas made by a 30 yr old girl that said she had been making them for years ....no pomp or circumstance just a half rack of ribs on meat paper with a side of slaw...$4.50 Slick !

Seems like such a weird route, you wouldn't think those areas have much traffic to each other, probably why the rate cut I suppose.

You've got that mixed up. Austin is the worst part of Texas.
