Is pro worth the extra money? Only difference seems to be that its hard wired for power source.

I have a pro and helped my parents put in a 2. The pro seems less buggy than theirs. Also wanted the slimmer profile for my door frame.

I did notice that the pro is smaller. Is it easy to install? Brand new house (new construction) with a standard wired doorbell. I assume I would have the right connections and power source for the pro.

Really straight forward to install. The ring app or provided instructions in the box walk you through step by step. The only thing with the pro that people overlook is that it requires a doorbell transformer that is at least 16V and at least 20VA. You should be able to look yours up or it should be written on it.

Thanks OP. I'll cancel my BB order from this morning and get this instead.... I was going to sell the Chime & Show anyway so this is a better deal for me since I want the monitoring service.

Chime pro is useless. That thing is pure crap. Also make sure you have a good wifi connection to these things.

Does anyone know how the 12 month subscription is delivered? I already have a Ring Doorbell Pro, but this is a deal for the 12 months of Ring Protect.

I'm contemplating buying this and selling the doorbell on eBay.

Edit: I found my answer in the other thread. The Protect Plus is tied to the device. I would have to sell my current doorbell and keep the new one.

Hmm. I have an existing Ring (1) device that's working fine. So you're saying if I get this new Ring 2, install it then I can get the 1 year Protect service to apply to my existing alarm system?
Basically cover the $100 for the year plan, so this comes to $29 + tax .
And I have to see if I can get rid of the Ring 1 that I have .. ?

Also, can you link to the post in the other thread about this?
