"This FDA Approval Thermometer equip with 4-6 Seconds reading out speed brings you accurate and healthy temp"

4-6 Seconds is not instant read for many of us.

lasts longer and they make much more expensive models

Edit: Thermapop was the cheaper alternative and thermopen is not their company

Do yourself a favor and and go to Lowe's and buy a Weber thermometer. A buck more and it has done BBQ and sugar syrup testing for my wife. It also hasn't broken on me like the other cheap ones on Amazon.

Got one of these a couple of years ago.

Still works like a champ after infrequent use (I pretty much only use it when cooking thick-cut meats) and while I wouldn't call it waterproof, the main body has survived unintended splashing when the probe end has needed a good scrubbing.

Getting one for my mom - at this price, it's a no-brainer.

Thats hillarious. I bought 2 of these about 3-4 years ago for $10. They both still work great. Just used one tonight. On the other hand. The Weber one I had became really inaccurate. Upon taking the battery out the entire inside was rusty and corroded. Sat in a drawer just like the rest of them that worked. So to each there own.

On another note the Weber brand digital thermometer with the wifi got the worst ratings and then went on clearance at home depot last year. Thing was junk. Terrible reviews all around on Amazon/HD. I know that not what were discussing but thought I should share that version of weber thermometer was trash as well Smilie

Confused as to Camel showing the price as $12.xx and higher on previous dates but the list price shows $10.99 (same at Walmart).

Was thinking about nabbing it for beer brewing.
