Seeing a lot of laptop deals. This one seems like a decent deal for $399.99. It has the 10th gen i5. Thinking this is a better deal then the dell for $349.99 at best buy. What do you guys think ?

the dell has 720p screen this one has 1080p ips, that alone makes this way better.

Hp look slike it has a better i5 processor, it has built in usb c, top mounted B&O speakers, same thickness, but hal pound lighter.

those are all of the things i see better with the HP, for $50 its a beter deal than the Dell

That's what I was thinking with the screen alone. Thanks for the info.

I just bought the $279.99 i3 from Costco too and also discussed here on SD. I haven't opened it and now I'm thinking if I should just get this one instead and return the i3. This is $120 more for the i5 upgrade and double the memory and storage (8 vs 4 GB RAM, 256GB vs 128GB SSD), but looks like losing the back lit keyboard (correct me if I'm wrong) which is nice for a portable. Mostly want a low cost laptop for portable productivity since my main computer is a desktop, torn between this and the i3, does anyone have insights on which one to get/keep Smilie

Guessing this can't charge via USB-C? Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Pretty much. Everything USB-C on the lower price range typically lacks Power Delivery or Thunderbolt support, just a faster USB 3.WHATEVER port.

Heads up one review indicates a noisy fan..?

Black Friday From Dell.com has a 10th gen i5 with 8GB ram and 256 SSD for $399.
Any reason to wait until BF or do I jump on this one? Looks like only downfall is no backlit keyboard.

Pull the trigger on this HP.. or do I wait for the Dell 5000 series on Thanksgiving?

If your intent is mild usage over many years before you replace it I would spend the extra cash to have something that won't get antiquitated so quickly. 4gb of ram won't be sufficient for long. Small hd will fill up. Quad core processor will soon be base level.etc.

This on should probably run twice as fast with more core availability from the cpu double the memory and a better HD means more space and with the screen I would say the return trade out is a no Brainer for 120 I would definitely do it
