The 12 month protect plus plan is worth $100. So if you were planning to get that anyway, you are basically getting the doorbell2 for $29.99. Solid deal IMO. Got 1. Made perfect sense for me b/c I had recently purchased a Ring home security system and was looking to get the Protect Plus Plan. Now adding on the Door Bell 2 for $29.99!

If you are already a ring protect plus subscriber can you use the 12 months or is it for new customers only?

This is huge. My subscription is over in December and would love to know this as well.

From what I can gather from Ring's website, there is no distinction between new customer vs. existing customer. The 1 year period starts when you register/activate the doorbell. So if I were you, I would still jump on this deal but maybe hold off on activating until your current plan runs out in December.

So my renewal just happen at the end of August. If I buy now, I need to hold on to it until next August to register it? Is this how it works?

Edit: I reached out to a Ring employee and after some research, they confirmed this does come with Protect Plus. The only difference they could find was that you will not get the 10% discount on orders placed with Ring. That is only for Protect Plus paid directly to Ring.

Has anyone see any Black Friday or Holiday deals on the Ring Security Cams, Security Systems, Smart Lighting and/or Ring Compatible Accessories?

For all those asking about the included monitoring service: It is tied to actual device purchased. There is no way to credit your account or keep the service for another device and sell the one purchased from Costco. You don't register it. Once you activate the doorbell, it automatically starts the 1 year of free service.
If you already have a Ring Protect Plus plan ($10/month or $100/year) there is no benefit for you as you already have unlimited cameras. It does not offset any renewal cost in the future (you could have 4 of these and buy an alarm; you would still pay the $10/$100 fee if you want protect plus / professional monitoring) and there is no refund of existing monies paid.
This is a good deal for those looking to buy the camera who don't have Protect Plus and have 3 or less cameras, otherwise, the free year has no value.
If I do not have any Ring products and I buy this along with a Ring alarm system, will the protect plus plan that comes with the doorbell cover everything?

Yes, it covers all devices at the same location. Also extends the warranty of all devices at the same location and gives 10% off many other items purchased from Ring.com. See https://shop.ring.com/pages/protect-plans.

Repeat question I think:
If I buy this now and activate in April 2020, does the 1 year thing start at that point or time of purchase?
Once the plus sub is done, can I go on the cheaper plan or not sub at all? Will it screw up the ring doorbell app or viewing?

Ring Customer Service is pretty responsive via Facebook, Twitter and Chat. I recommend that you contact them to get the answers.
