The model for this phone is XT1921-2. The clearest, most concise spec listing I can find is at the Republic Wireless site: https://help.republicwireless.com...Tech-Specs

This phone should be bootloader unlockable and rootable, per XDA:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/...m-t3820901
https://forum.xda-developers.com/...d-t3856182

LTE bands supported: 1,2,3,4,5,8,12,14,17,30,66

Clearly, it works fully with AT&T, Cricket, and other AT&T MVNOs. As long as you do not power on the phone with included SIM, it should activate just fine on any AT&T MVNO.

This lacks band 13 - which is Verizon's 4G LTE backbone - so it almost certainly will not work with Verizon or Verizon MVNOs.

This lacks bands 25, 26, and 41, so it almost certainly will not work with Sprint.

It does have main TMO LTE bands (2,4,12), so it should technically work with TMO or a TMO MVNO, but activation outside of AT&T or an AT&T MVNO will almost certainly require 6 months of AT&T service before it can be unlocked for that purpose. Still, if you have TMO and pick up this phone, please try and let us all know!

Same price in stores.

Anyone that owns the phone now know if these apps are available in the Play Store? Thanks.

I don't have this phone, but all you're going to need for Swagbucks apps is Android 5 or higher and enough space to install them. This phone apparently ships with Android 8. It's not going to be a problem. Even much older/crappier phones should run the SB apps, if you can just get a new enough OS on them. I'm running them on a rooted HTC Sensation (2011).

OT, I recommend that you install the 2018 app versions and disable updates in Play Store.

If you're talking about just using it on wifi, yes just take out the included sim card before starting/setting up the phone. That is their slightly obtuse terminology for pricing WITH activation or pricing WITHOUT. Usually, the pricing is higher without. In fact I just bought this phone a week ago at $59.99 from best buy for a family member without activation (termed activate later) as we had to port their number at a corporate AT&T store separately as there was some confusion with porting from Cricket despite being wholly owned by At&t.

Caveat is that these phones are locked to At&t service and I believe it requires 6 months of service before they will oblige to give you an unlock code in order to move service to Tmobile. I *believe* their phones will work fine with Cricket and other att MVNOs while locked, but I can't be certain and go at your own risk regarding that.
They work with cricket. I'm on a Moto z2 force att

Anyone know if this would run Pokemon Go? I need a phone that could run it well from inside the house with WiFi only just to battle or catch pokemon inside the house only.

Bought this right now, installed my Cricket Sim in it and it runs like a dream. I highly recommend getting a micro SD card and installing that to expand memory. Get this if you need a phone for Cricket.

Can an unlock code be purchased for this phone?
I use this phone on wifi, bought it for $40 in September ( https://slickdeals.net/f/13353541-at-t-pre-paid-motorola-moto-e5-play-with-16gb-memory-prepaid-cell-phone-39-99-best-buy-free-shipping). Most unlockers on eBay have a disclaimer that it can't be unlocked unless the 6 months of prepaid usage on AT&T were fulfilled. The only ebayer that didn't have that disclaimer refunded my money ($14) when he wasn't able to unlock it in a week.

In comparing, it looks like this phone supports all the bands Verizon uses. I assume this lock also prevents activation on Verizon?

I have an activated byod Tracfone sim on AT&T. I wonder if it would work on this phone. I know it works on a Tracfone branded phone on AT&T (LG Sunset) and of course on an unlocked AT&T phone. Tempted to buy one just to find out.
Yes, it will work on Tracfone/AT&T, either by swapping a currently activated SIM, or by using a BYOD SIM.

That's an interesting question. I don't know the answer, but In looking at some reviews one mentioned that there are confusingly different versions and that there was one version that had a working fingerprint reader (seemingly not this one) and could be used on CDMA and GSM network. I briefly wondered if the Verizon locked E5 could be that elusive phone but at $30 for senior family members with light usage I'm not vested in taking a chance. However, having had a Nexus 6 and now a pixel 3 I have to say being able to go between CDMA and GSM is a really great thing if you are in the complicated situation of needing it.

I think you'll be fine playing PoGo on this phone. I just bought one for the same exact reason but I'm going to hotspot it so I can play outdoors

I want to put a current prepaid TracFone sim in this at&t moto e5 & use it on TracFone network. Will this phone work with TracFone's sim? does this phone support 5ghz wifi? Thanks.
