Looks like a pretty good deal. I'm curious between this and the Deco M9 Plus deal. Does anyone have any opinions on what is better?

I'm in the market for a mesh setup and wondering how this stacks up? I'm all over the place and not sure what to get. I like orbi due to the dedicated wifi backhaul, but I'm not sure they've fixed their firmware issue. I also want a setup where I can pick channels as well as force a 5ghz device use the 5ghz band.

My current mesh setup was really cheap and while it works, I'm having an issue with my firesticks using 2.4ghz band and I can't make them use 5ghz.

I picked up the Deco M9 but it didn't work for me.

I had throttling issues with it, throttling my devices to under 100MBps which I saw that it happens with this system to some people.

Also, one of the nodes in a challenging spot had a weak connection. Devices right next to it preferred to connect to the main node instead to the closest one which was defeating the purpose I got it for.

Orbi ac3000, if you willing to do some tweak. Orbi 3000 consistently beats every MESH router currently in market including this and eero

1. Get the Orbi device
2. Activate and upgrade to the latest firmware
3. Do 30/30/30 reset
4. Now go ahead and setup the brand new wireless network.
5. Go to wireless settings and enable MEMO and Beam forming.
6 I disabled the shitty security softwares like armor , disney circle, disabled remote management and disabled logging.

I was about to return my Orbi to costco due to frequent internet dropouts, then found the above info in one of the Netgear forum and I am glad I did it. Currently with 27 days uptime with zero downtime or issues

I actually jumped on the Velop since it's on sale at Best Buy.

Going to try it out since the Orb AC300 is on sale come black Friday at Costco.

Thanks for the info. That's a big help. Now I gotta set up this Arlo on the network. I'll return if I don't like.

Thanks for your feedback! I currently Orbi RBK22 in my house which works well but occasionally will drop off and doesn't get to all the areas within the house ~ 3000 sq ft. Still within the return window of 90 days and have about 20 day overlap recent purchase of the Deco M9 Plus. Really wasn't looking to spend more than $200 on network upgrade.

Hopefully this one may come below $250 on Black Friday...

Thank you for your feedback! Just to confirm, did you mean you've been using the Linksys Velop for the last 2 years or the Deco M9 Plus?

So I bought this and the orbi 4 pack (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netg...Id=6366948).

I don't know what one to keep. I know my speeds will never max out either but I need range. I have a mother in law apartment attached to our house and the wall in-between is really thick. My setup now (tends Nova mw6) currently works but not well. What is anyone's opinion on these two mesh systems and what one should I keep? Thanks

Do you connect completely wireless? You will need a tri band mesh, dual band will be slow.

yes everything is wireless. I appreciate the reply. I will hook up the Velop very soon. The great thing about buying these right now is the extended return time (Jan 14/2020). If it gives me trouble Ill just try the other one.
