TCL over hisense due to the OS, rapid start, and HDR10 support.
I own both and they are the same on start up!

Are you able to install other Apps on this TV? I have FIOS and would rather not pay monthly for another box. I'd prefer to get the FiosTV App installed and stream from there.

Currently have no TV and looking to get a decent 65". I've been thinking getting the Samsung OLED but dont want to pay north of $1000.

I'm not a huge movie or gaming buff. Just want a decent movie to watch a movie once a week and play some videos in the background.

Is this a decent TV or is it garbage? Any decent alternatives?

Don't forget to use the 10% military discount, if you can. Also, Best Buy price-matched, in case anyone would rather buy it there: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-...Id=6323856

I currently have an 8 year old 42" LG, and bought this as an upgrade. Hopefully I'll like it! Coming from no TV, I think this will definitely be an upgrade.

Nice find! Best Buy at same price needs to be added in Wiki.

Great deal. I bought a Samsung 58" for $360 including tax at Costco over a year ago and this easily tops it

Model numbers would help...

TCL 4 series (I own one) is not good. I was extremely disappointed in it as several people on this site recommended it! I also own a Hisense 8 series and i swear the picture is much better, better colors and better contrast!
I wouldn't ever take recommendation from people on this site on quality of a tv. Price and size is the only factor to most people here. They want the biggest TV for the lowest price. Also they have the good enough mentally for picture quality. Look for reviews online and of there aren't any then your best bet is to go see it for yourself on display and make your decision.

I picked one up a few months ago for $450, I've been pretty happy with the image quality and features over all for the price. The screen isn't quite as bright as some of my other TV's but I haven't had issue watching tv during the day with blinds closed. I'd say It's a nice set for the money as long as you aren't expecting the same performance as a $1400 TV, I enjoy it over my 2008 Sony Bravia 52" that was in it's place, the size and features (4k, HDR, Roku etc)in comparison are nice.

That said the Bravia has been fantastic as it is still running like a charm after 11 years. I can't say how reliable this one will be, if I get 5-6 years out of it I'll be super happy, anything more is a bonus.
