2 of the 6ft ones came out to like 9something after tax and shipping so I went with the 15 ft version.

15 ft has free shipping. Little over double the length for 5.99 pre tax. Two cables came out to 12something after tax.

Does anyone know if an HDMI 2.0 cable is backward compatible with the earlier 1.x HDMI standards?

If you're having trouble with need for speed heat loading, configure it in your Nvidia profile. I had that problem too of the blank screen

You know, every time I see an HDMI deal that I think looks good I bump into a comment like this. If I'm just looking for a good quality HDMI at a fair price where should I look?

No further. Just because it's likely a shill post doesn't mean it's a bad product. This should do the trick fine..

The speed quoted is the max under ideal conditions. They all lose speed and pic quality as they get longer. They automatically adjust speed. You are better off getting the minimum length required. You will only notice watching fast moving scenes.

I've got a really stupid question. I've got several hdmi cables that came from previous tv wall mounts that I've purchased. Would this make a meaningful difference in my picture quality? I have a 4K Sony tv and 4K Apple TV box. Appreciate the guidance in advance.

No difference in picture quality. You generally need an HDMI 2.0 cable to have the bandwidth to push 4K 60fps or HDR from something like your Apple TV 4K. The Apple TV has a high bandwidth HDMI cable test in settings that you can run to test the cable. It will pass or it will not. For the record, some older non-2.0 rated cables will pass and work just fine for HDR/4K.

Beware I bought some of monoprices claiming 4k support, my tv kept dropping signal using Roku Ultra and a 4K player, it was random. I bought some clearance ones from Best Buy the RocketFish 4k ones, the issue went away. So not all HDMI's claiming they're in spec infact are, sometimes they things are just BS IMO
