For those, like me, waiting for the site to open with the holiday deals, it's open. Hopefully someone can find something they want. I checked and before I posted only saw a few individual sets. This is all together for you. Hope it helps.

https://www.homedepot.com/b/Featu...ee-basekit Makita 1 free tool with 2 4AH batteries - $199
https://www.homedepot.com/b/Featu...,6203,6217 Makita 2 free tools with a hammer drill, driver and 2 5AH batteries - $399 NLA

I will say though, the deals seem underwhelming compared to last year. Last year I got the Ridgid brushless driver and hammer drill with 2 4AH batteries and a free impact wrench all for $200. This time you get 2 3AH batteries. And for those looking at the Ridgid 2 free tools, the base set is brushed tools, just like last year.

Hope the price drops on BF, but the link should remain the same.

Looking to get my first set of Makita drills. Been eyeing this kit, what do you think is a good target price? Or would there be any reason to avoid these newer sub compacts?

The deals on the tools are really bad. The only way to make them good is to buy the batteries and get the free tool then return the batteries. You can get the Milwaukee orbital sander for $60 that way. The Rigid Circular saw is $78.

Yea, bigger deals are going to have to come on BF. No one is really going to bite on this -- it's practically normal pricing.

They're not going to sell much if anything, and will gradually sweeten the pot. Most big retailers have learned that they should start their "black friday" deals early in the month to shake out people who will just buy, and slowly make the deals better, getting a bit more people to buy each step of the way. Basically, optimum money collection that way, and you don't end up with huge surges of stock and/or leftover stock if something didn't sell.

You don't even have to look back a year ago to compare, atleast for the Ryobi. Just look back less than a week for the Ryobi 2 batt/2 tools $99 deal.

looking for Ryobi batteries. 2 packs. $99 for 4ah or $139 for 6ah. Doesn't seem too slick, does it?

Last year's Ridgid Hyper 4Ah batteries uses 18650 Li-ion cells.

The newer Ridgid Octane 3Ah batteries uses 21700 Li-ion cells, and has the additional electrical contacts to improve the performance of brushless tools. And includes BlueTooth.

Concerning 21700 cells - "This cell pumps out a capacity of 3,000 mAh of energy and does so with a with a true 35 amp Continuous Discharge/Drain Rating. No other cell on the market can match the punch of current that this cell delivers."
