Not being a contractor...
How do I explain to my wife that I NEED 2 tape measures?
Because it's BOGO!
Or
1 for you and 1 for me?
😂
Now... Milwaukee or the FatMax... 🤔
I put extra in different places for just in case like car, garage, tool box for example.

Easy question. Fat Max. I have a lot of milwuakee tools but their tapes are nowhere near the quality of fatmax. I'm in remodeling and am always on jobsites with all manner of other contractors, plumbers, HVAC dudes, electricians, fire sprinkler dudes.. the list goes on and on and probably 70% of them have fat Max tapes

I prefer the milwaukee by a long shot. The clip doesn't tear up your belt, and the cut out on the bottom to stop the blade is a nice feature as well.

Milwaukee has "lifetime" warranty which I've been able to just exchange at a Home Depot before. Fatmax only shows that warranty online (and specifies not to return it to store) so it might be harder to exchange one in-store if needed.

Good to know.
Wasn't sure if I would ever use the magnetic tape (again, not a contractor)... Thought it was a tad gimmicky?
Do you measure with metal studs or metal anything? If you're only measuring wood/plastic, then it is not necessary.

Couldn't you just put our finger in front of the tape measure body to accomplish the same thing?

Wow. Nice debate about a tape measure going on here.
I picked up the FatMax (thanks OP!!).
Great to see people debating on the merits of the actual tools (and not bitching about each other). 👍
thanks EVERYONE!!! Happy Holidays!! Wish everyone could be this civil on all deals.

I wasn't aware fatmax was sort of the standard. Guess that's the difference between working around other tradesman and being a DIY/Weekend warrior. Glad this post ended up discussing tape measures.

Is this the stuff at the front of the store in their "Holiday tool sale" area, like they do every year?
