AAC vs aptx etc...
Iphones only support AAC (or just standard bluetooth audio). APTx and such is not supported. Is it a dealbreaker? probably not but if I was spending much more than I'd personally like to see AAC support.

I think I saw a review a while back comparing AAC and standard Bluetooth, AAC can do a better job of retaining high frequency audio content (above 14khz etc) so a good set of headphones/speakers could benefit from it. You could buy a headset with support for AAC but have speakers/electronics that otherwise won't do a good job reproducing the additional detail.

Bluetooth:
I see these are Bluetooth 4.0 as well, that should be fine. We're starting to see Bluetooth 5.0 devices but for headphones you won't gain much from that other than possible extended range. 5.0 is supposed to allow for lower power usage as well but that may not apply to devices that need to stream audio. Finally, there aren't any audio specific enhancements (yet at least) related to the new BT standard. AAC (which can be supported by all current Bluetooth standards) is probably the only thing that MAY give you a more full range audio signal.

What feature is essential?
A good return policy is probably the best feature :-)

I own the Sony and have never experienced the Sennheiser. But looking at the specs, Sony supporting LDAC vs Sennheiser AptX, I would assume Sony would sound better, at least on Android.

I believe they are the same, just different colors. I'm on the fence myself. I just bought the JLab air that I'm picking up today as a cheap pair to get me by until I find a deal I can afford on good headphones for work at home and now I'm not sure if I should go with these, or keep saving a little more and see what other deals come along approaching BF.

I've looked into these a lot though and the consensus seems to be they have good audio quality (if maybe just a little less vibrant than like Sony 1000's etc), the ANC is only somewhat effective, and they can be uncomfortable for people with large heads or ears due to minimal padding on the upper bar and the design. Build quality seems very good though.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm right there on the fence with you.

Are these the same ones that were posted yesterday from Best buy? Been hoping to pickup a solid pair of headphones for things like yardwork, flea market and Walmart shopping. Looking at these or some in ear wireless buds. Any advice is welcome.

I think these are good for the cost but sams club and costco will have sony wh900 on sale soon at $130 and they have better reviews.. these have good noise cancellation than the sony wh900 but the latter has better touch controls and feedback..

Bought Sennheiser HD when it was 99 beginning of this year ... Found the cups to be squeezing my ears and as well the pointy band hitting my head. I couldn't adjust the grip in any way to make it more bearable and comfortable.. so got rid of it. If anyone have larger head size or larger ears or ones sensitive to firm grip around the ears .. it's better to try it for a while and then decide to buy ...

Do you have more info on this? I'm limited to Amazon due to some credit I have to go towards the purchase, but I know they might price match. I'd very likely hold out for the Sony if I can but more information would really help me on that.

I've got these headphones and I use them on my Galaxy S9. I'm not an audiophile, but I know this brand was popular with the video producers I've worked with in the past. I primarily use them for when the office gets loud or when my kids are home and I need to concentrate. It really does a great job blocking outside noise. Music sounds good and the calls are good, but occasionally others complain about not hearing me clearly especially when there is noise in the background making me wonder if the mics ANC is overly aggressive or lacking altogether. At $79, this is a great buy. I paid $99, and I'd still recommend them at that price.

How much does having something like LDAC/AptX/AAC really matter for audio(music)? Asking for an iPhone user, would that be a deal killer for this?

Yes, the SE are the same as those black/red ones in specs, just exclusive to Amazon. Both come with the AUX cable and carry case.

These are terrible for voice. So bad I emailed their customer service. The reply said that they I should try the $500 earphones if I want to make calls. Hahahaha. Never again Sennheiser.
