Microsoft Surface Pro 6 i5 8GB 128GB Tablet Free type cover with purchase $649.00. This is the best price I have found especially since the exchange does not charge sales tax or shipping. To sweeten the deal there is a 10% off discount code: Hello11N19
Please keep in mind the you have to be military or vet to shop at the exchange.

So is this pro 6 have all the components "glued" in. i.e. can I change the memory or SSD if I want? or is it considered disposable.

Yes I think you will find this true for all the "light wieght" 2 in 1s and ultra books

It's worse than that. It's fundamentally not repairable at all.

That said this is a really good price for really good product.

I tried twice and both times mine failed. Then I cut and pasted Hello11N19 in the entry box and it worked. YMMV

Would this be good for a casual photographer to edit pictures?

I think you'd be fairly limited by RAM and storage space for editing. The screen though small would be great.

Yes it's soldered to the internal circuit system.

Seriously good deal, given that the type cover is included. You can get the pen on Amazon for no more than about $70. My mom just spent about $1100 for the Surface Pro 7 + Signature Type Cover + Pen. I don't know if the 7 is worth $400 more for better proc, better mic, better wifi, usb-c but significantly worse battery life.

The pro 6 is a solid device. The pro 7 has some pretty dang fast though, has pretty impressive benchmarks
