The Owlet Smart Sock 2 is on sale for $199 ($100 off) at both Target (in-store pickup only) and Walmart (online and in-store). Close to it's lowest price ever of 179.99. With coupons or discounts you might be able to get there.

Was originally an early BF offer at Target available through tomorrow (Saturday), looks like Walmart is price matching.

Owlet site: owletcare.com

Target: https://www.target.com/p/owlet-sm...A-53197377
Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Owlet-.../167836816

Couple notes:
  • You can use FSA or HSA dollars to buy this
  • You should be able to use the Target in-store 15% off baby registry item on this YMMV
  • Check cashback sites, you can get 5% back on baby items at Walmart
  • Can save a bit at Target with the Redcard
Edit: Target has it available online but for in-store pickup only.

Make a registry and get 15% off. I ended up pay $180 for the owlet, crib sheets, diaper genie and a blanket. Think we had a few more discounts. This was back in June. The owlet was priced $199 then too.

I'm due in about a month. I read a lot of reviews about this and ultimately decided against it. Between false positives, a false sense of security, and injuries that have occurred (babies have been burned by the sock), it's not worth it to me.
Parents who purchase this need to realize this is strictly a tool and NOT a replacement for their own eyes and assessment.

Pulse oximeters (which this is) are a great technology, but medical grade or not, their accuracy is easily affected by artifacts (ie improper fit, poor circulation, cool skin temp, movement, etc)

When doctor's don't recommend them its likely due to the concern of the parents throwing out all common sense/ own observations out the window and relying only on the device to keep an eye on their little ones, resulting in emergency calls for false alarms.

I would get false alarms for high heart rates when burping my baby (because it would pick up my pats as a heartbeat artifact)

I have one and its a great TOOL to avert SIDS, not a cure for it. Know its limitations and use your own observations if/when it alarms before making a judgement call and calling emergency services.

My 2 cents as a respiratory therapist for two decades. Pulse oximeters are one our tools used on every patient we treat it to assess their overall status.

Slickdeals took a lot more work than hooking up a pulse oximeter to a sock.
I just met the founder a couple of months ago. Trust me, it was WAY more difficult than you're giving them credit for.

Out of stock online. Walmart and BestBuy stopped price matching (b/c now out of stock online).

For stores showing in stock, call ahead; I tried three that all showed stock online but were already out.

You would be better off getting a good video monitor. This will only add anxiety of if it working right or if the monitoring stops working or sends a false alarm. You might think it is giving you a piece of mind, but I bet it adds to the stress.

A lot more work?
You mean copy Fatwallet's whole design, but completely cut the millions they paid out to members annually?
