I have been searching for SVS subs and came across the PB-4000 in Piano Gloss for $1,299 at B&H Photo Video. Website says the deal expires Nov 10 at midnight ET.

Shipping is not free which killed the deal for me, but it may work well for someone else.

Depends on your room, the geometry and how picky your ears are. I am happy with just one. For me, damper feet are pretty much required for clean bass without shaking the house.

178.05 freight shipping for me
When I bought mine earlier this year, the delivery guy rang my door bell and asked me where the laundry room is. He didn't read the prints on the box and only saw the image. He thought it was a front loading washer....

Not a bad deal if you are into SVS. I own a pb12-plus and its a great subwoofer. However, for quite a while SVS hasn't been the value leader. Even with this discount, I believe the Rythmik fv15HP is superior dollar for dollar.

If you really like controlling the sub with their app or you value the piano gloss finish though it's a great deal.

Per discussions with Gary the president of SVS.. dual is only needed if there are dead spots in areas of the soundstage. My soundstage is 12w x 25l ...This not only fills the sound stage but, I have to dial it back so much it's barely at 30% volume sometimes (-60db - 0db adjustments). I calibrate at -30db per Gary (regardless of setup) and then you adjust per source. Never have I gone higher than -10db.... as that is absolutely terrifying, not to the sub, it's fine, to my house. I'm worried it's going to implode. I'm half joking. Only half. Get one and DONE.

Sorry I have to disagree. You may not know it if you haven't measured but you do have dead spaces in your setup. I can pretty much guarantee it. IMHO always go for duals...smoother bass response is the best thing you can do.

I have a PB-2000 and that shakes up my basement theater and I feel that's more than ample because any more bass would bend my basement frames.

This is very tempting but not sure whether to invest in it or not :S

Would a PB-2000 and PB-4000 work in harmony ?
