I think it's a great deal. ryzen 3 is comparable to an i5 and the ips screen on this guy is great. for $50 you can buy 8gb of ram and a 240ssd, bringing it to 12gb ram and close to 400gb storage for under $400.

How is this a deal? You can buy the same exact thing on eBay from Acer (refurb) for $280. And you could have bought it a few weeks back for $243. I bought one at the $243 price, and it appeared to be brand new.

Was thinking the same thing. $309 has been the price for some time according to 3 camels.

This is labeled as slim, yet it's 4lbs. I really wish it was lighter.

This laptop would not recognize the Samsung PM981 MZ-VLB2560 256GB 3D TLC PCIe NVMe SSD,m2 970 EVO 250GB OEM drive that I took out of a Lenovo 330s
It does recognize the Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 512GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D2 QLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
The difference being 3D TLC and 3D2 QLC
Does anyone know what I need to do the get it to see the Samsung drive?

If I'm not mistaken windows version S will only allow software installs from the Microsoft store, severely limiting it's usage

You are not mistaken but it's an easy switch out of S mode.

You can switch out of S mode, but it's 1 way. You can't switch back to S mode.

FYI. Its $259+ tax if combined with Discover Card discount offer (posted earlier) I redeemed $5 Discover cash as trigger, for a checkout total at $271 (including tax). This is before Discover 5% cash back. ($13.55) So total after CB was around $258. YMMV

Protip: buy this direct off acerrecertified's site, no tax for some reason. Still free shipping. And if like the other poster said, it's still 279 there like on ebay, even better. It's a great low-med end laptop. I got it for my girlfriend to replace her crap chromebook and she loves it, we're going to try & get some games on it here soon
