Ryzen 7 3700x $310 @ B&H

B&H has the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core 16-Thread Desktop Processor w/ Wraith Prism LED Cooler + Borderlands 3 or The Outer World (PCDD) + 3-Months Xbox Game Pass for $309.99. This is not the lowest price I've seen, but if you have the payboo card, you can save the tax, and in certain states, that can easily equate to more savings than the slightly lower prices of other retailers.

I will go the same route too, I just have to decide between the 3700x and the 3900X and narrow down my choices for a X570 mobo.

I was about to go with Intel but the latest Ryzen offerings are compelling even though the X570 mobo are significantly more expensive than their z390 counterpart and the Z470 are missing a few features that I want standard

B&H has no sales tax in most states. Cheaper for most people than the amazon or walmart deals.

I have been debating between the 2 as well. Had the 1700X and then the 2700X and I think I want to get out of this cycle and just get the 3900X and be good for a few years. Plus I do edit video so it's a "time is money" type of thing. The question is also, wait for black friday even though that particular chip probably won't get much of a discount.

After writing this an hour and a half ago I decided to just go order the 3900x, get my free games and the 5% back from Paypal. Probably won't see too many better deals. But in the last hour, B&H jacked the price up $20. I still had the tab open at the regular retail price of $499 but it is now $520. So there is still price gouging going on with that chip. Even by reputable retailers like B&H

Look up the hardware unboxed reviews on the vrms before deciding. The asus tuf is a good budget option but I had it and returned it cause it looked and felt cheap. If you want one of the best either the Msi Meg ace or the gigabyte aorus master. The meg ace is my choice. Overbuilt in my opinion which is what I wanted for the thermals on x570. Runs a few degrees hotter in vrm than gigabytes finned design but has superior bios and features.

What are you thinking for the x570 mobo? I'm having a hard time finding one I like.

I am thinking about this for $340

MSI MEG X570 ACE AM4 ATX Motherboard [bhphotovideo.com]
This gives me future-proofing, 3 M.2 slots, and the needed troubleshooting tools build in since I will be my own tech support and it makes a world of difference.

Oof. I'm hoping to spend more like $200 but maybe that's unrealistic. I might need video outputs on the mobo, as well, if my video card can't run four monitors.

These two mobos were my two top choices, I went with the MSI Meg Ace because issues with the Gigabyte's sleep mode do not have an official fix yet even though they have been showing up in forums for months.
I ordered the MSI tonight from B&H.

Now I just need the memory and a solid RTX 2070 Super to complete the part collection

Have you looked at the ASRock X470 Taichi for $209?
I read good reviews about it.

You are correct that it is likely the best price we will see, stock appears to be dwindling causing prices to rise across the board. I ordered one, I am not taking a chance, Imonly paid $10 more.

Thanks.

Are you sure about that?

B&H used to have no sales tax but that is rarely the case now.
