I upvoted because I bought it. Tbh glasswire sponsors a lot of linustechtips videos so that was where I first heard of them. I've been wanting to try it out for a while but didn't want to pay the full price so this helped me pull the trigger.

According to their site the normal price is $40 a year and LTT has a 25% off coupon which would bring the yearly cost down to $30 and this deal is 3 years for $30.

edit: meant $23

I'm not having any luck buying this. Getting error both on PayPal and credit card purchase. Submitted a ticket with stacksocial and I'll see what happens.

I ended up buying a Fing box instead. One time price of $99 on Amazon and does quite a bit without tracking just ten devices. Plus it blocks new devices trying to join my network and reports off network devices that loiter nearby. The app is free (Fing) and the box has no subscription.

so this tells you what is using your internet resources through your computer?

How is that any different than, "Resource Monitor" on windows? It tells me what software is sending and or receiving, tells me IPs, packets, latency, ports.

what is so special about glasswire? The UI?

found a post about the differences: https://steamcommunity.com/app/35...683833058/

tl;dr: yes, at your conclusion (although it also has an app).

there's a weird target market here..you have to be tech savvy enough to know that something bad might be disguising itself as legit, AND be able to find it through this, and prefer it over the extensive built-in tools windows has. cell phone antivirus still seems fairly unnecessary, unless, again, you're advanced enough to be sideloading apks, at which point you're probably intelligent enough to only install from trusted sources anyway.

but hey, to each their own, i guess it's still a much better price than usual..just not a product for me.

Just a FYI, they have a 25% off coupon at their site for the permanent Elite/10 user license, bringing it to $75.

Is there a specific way to change to permanent (from subscription, I assume)?

Not seeing the coup on my end.

EDIT: Sorta figured it out. You have to go to close the page and wait for the pop-up saying something along the lines of "Wait, don't go". Then you can get the $75 price. But that is still the subscription-based sales model, not a permanent $75 for life buy.

Yeah. It's a gimmicky coupon thing. Kind of a shame.
