What is the chance of getting this without having to wait in line?
15% chance, but only if you cross your fingers

Great deal for an Apple watch. Anyone know of a good deal on Wear OS watches now or coming for Black Friday? I mainly just want to see the time, get text messages and reply with an on-screen keyboard.

5 is current but expensive, a deal on the 4 was about $250 earlier today, but the 3 is still a good device, especially at 129.
My series 3 is slow when I use maps. Sometimes with maps open and using walking directions (no visual map just words like turn left/right) but if I tap to see the actual map with walking directions it takes a long time to load. I have bluetooth on both iPhone and watch.

I would love to get these for my kids, especially at this price point but having to charge it every night isn't convenient, so leaning towards fitbit for $90 at Costco during BF sale... those claims to be good for a week with a charge and full waterproof.
My wife and I both have series 3 watches. You can go at least 2 days between charges.

I charge mine while I shower and I can get 3-4 days between having to do a full charge.

Try Amazefit which have multi week Battery life. My Amazefit GTR battery lasts an average 35 days with moderate usage and 5min heart rate detection.

The bigger problem is that many schools ban Apple Watches (and all smart watches) because of their potential as cheating tools. Be sure to check your school handbook or ask the staff about the smart watch usage policies.

This is so true. A hospital I work at has also banned these watches and the clinic my GF works at has also banned smart watches. Just a heads up to people at the next staff meeting......

You would need to disable ALL stuff you dont use by going to background app refresh and disable them, disable siri if you dont use her, use airplane mode (bluetooth and wifi can still be turn on for both or individually) or better yet uninstall apps you dont need.
