purchased a used modem .... Comcast said money was owed on the account ....wouldn't activate it ... too late for a return.. threw it in the garbage can .....some things you shouldn't buy used ...

??? Modems in the mid-2000s had a 60 Mbps limit.
This one has a 300 Mbps....maybe this model can only reach 60 Mbps in "THEIR" system.

I have lowest Spectrum speed internet & with my vpn downloading is max 5 mps so I don't think I would benefit from this faster modem right?

Been using this for about a year on 200Mbps WOW! Internet service with zero issues. My router checks and logs uptime every few minutes and it shows 100% for 2019, which is impressive for both the modem and my ISP.

VPN always slows down your connection. How much slow down would depend on which VPN.
