Ready for whatever life throws at it Teachers who say the classroom sometimes feels like a playground, take heart—this device is engineered for durability. Built tough with rubber bumpers, reinforced ports and hinges, and mechanically anchored keys, the 100e Chromebook (2nd Gen) can handle all manner of shock and awe. It's even drop-resistant up to 29.5 inches (75cm), roughly the height of a school desk.
With its MediaTek processor, the 100e Chromebook (2nd Gen) seamlessly runs apps from Google Play* and the Chrome Web Store. Education apps, especially interactive ones, are designed to facilitate and enhance learning. Enjoy such favorites as Tinkercad™, GeoGebra, LucidChart, Jamboard, WeVideo, Kahoot!, and more.
With an 11.6" HD display, the built-in antiglare technology on the 100e Chromebook (2nd Gen) reduces eye strain—great for both teachers and students. The front-facing 720p HD camera makes collaboration simple; video-conference or chat on Skype knowing you'll be seen and heard clearly.
With up to 10 hours of battery life, the 100e Chromebook (2nd Gen) lasts an entire school day and then some, no need to haul around power cords and adapters. Students can work a full day and recharge overnight for the next day's classes.
Access to Google Classroom, G Suite and tons of interactive learning apps
Great for students and teachers
Fits a budget any school administration would love

Majestically snarky response to a perfectly innocent question. Thanks for the laugh. ehong, the short answer is no and the long answer is that you would probably want to beat yourself in the head if you ran windows from one of these. Chrome OS is very stripped down so they can still run well on notebooks with these lower specs.

Agreed. Except....
Many schools require kids have a Chromebook. My child, who practically looses a hoodie or water bottle once a week, is required to have a Chromebook. Not Windows, not Mac, not Linux... Chromebook. Requirement. Must have. Now sure, I could drop $800+ on a Pixelbook, but that makes no sense. These things are $100, and if he looses or breaks it I won't need to sell a kidney to replace it. Once the school year is over, it very may well go into a drawer, never to be booted again. But until then, he needs it to do his schoolwork. And a LOT of people here on Slickdeals have kids, and their kids are required to have one of these things. Sure, I get you don't like Chromebooks because they won't run Crysis, but these cheap machines have their use - mainly elementary school homework.

This is normal for a Chromebook, Of which its main purpose is normally just to search the web, maybe watch some Youtube or edit some sheets

This Lenovo is really close to the 2012 Acer Chromebooks I still use everyday. Octane scores are around 10,000 and they both have 720 TFT panels. These make fantastic couch browsers and I always keep one in each of my vehicles. I think these cheap 4gb Chromers are worth a hundred bucks all day long.
