It was $6.49 on a previous deal, but not a bad price either

Likely similar, both have soldered rings. Bought this one a year ago and it's great.

As long as it's actually stainless steel so it doesn't rust (which it probably is), they're all pretty much the same - chainmail scrubber. They work great, I love mine. It might even have been this brand (started with an "a", I've long forgotten)

Not needed. Just run the water till it's hot. While the cast iron is hot use a glass and pour a little hot water on to the pan. It will instantly boil and steam. Just use a spatula to wipe it clean. Done fast easy and cheap. No worries about damaging the seasoning.

I agree completely, just look at Japanese restaurants. All you need to do is add water to a hot griddle and it will boil right off and you can scrape it off and apply oil. All done.

I recently bought this and it has been a life changer for me. We use cast iron everything, well almost. And cleaning / scouring my wok / griddle / pans with this has made a huge difference. It cleans well, while not abrading the surface, and the scrapers that's come with it are an added bonus to scrape off those hard stuck black mass on the edges. Highly recommend this!
