Not a good deal. You posted a more expensive Amazon link. You can get a single one for $23.93 here [amazon.com].

Personally, I'd much prefer to spend $5 more and get a single 256.

*edit* Nevermind, I'm an idiot. Despite searching Amazon for the specific model #, it brought up the Extreme, not the Extreme Plus, which this deal is for.

Sometimes in any trip, better to have two smallest cards then on large, if one card failed you still have another one.
And at least you will loose only half of your pictures(video).

But you have double the cards, so you have double the chance of a failure.

LMAO

With two cards less probability to loose everything in one time.
For example external HDD with one Drive has more chances to loose data, then Mirroring HDD

lose = to misplace
loose = opposite of "tight"

Yes, you're right, you're very unlikely to have two simultaneous failures. However, you're twice as likely to have a single failure due to having multiple drives. Your analogy is bad because these cards are not mirrored, unlike a RAID1 array. Anyway, failures are rare. You're more likely to lose a card when you're being a mule and swapping them out. If you only have one it's staying in your camera.

Anyway, if you're concerned with data loss, the best you can do is back it up. Having two cards is tedious and poorly mitigates risk.

Unless you need the speed, a Samsung Evo Select may be the better more reliable choice. Sandisk reportedly has higher failure rates.

$20 each. And no Costco membership needed.

My mistake. Few times per year costo has the same deal but with an instant rebate brings it down to $39.99

I agree sandisk seems to have higher failure rates than the other bog boys in SD, but there also seem to be more fake Sandisk SDs in the market so that may be part of it

These were just 19.99 (each) at best buy, but that's dead if one isn't willing to wait.
