Too good to pass up. Effectively makes the 55" B9 price $999 since I would have purchased the extended warranty anyway. The 65" is $1,799 with the same perks.

There are questions marks surrounding the B9 vs C9 but I have 90 days to decide if it's justified or not.

This burn in discussion is EXACTLY the same as when plasma TV's were all the rage. Seriously...if you dig up an old post (if available from here and exchange the word OLED for plasma....)

OLED is starting to mature and I don't believe burn in is the issue it was when these first came out. Not saying it still can't happen. I suppose if you leave your TV on a static image day and night you can expect a problem. (Gamers?) Otherwise I'd be very surprised if burn in becomes an issue for you.

My plasma is 11 years old. No burn in yet but I don't game.

Waiting on sub 3k 77" OLED. Don't care if it's not 8k. Longer I wait cheaper it gets. More mature the tech becomes. Patience may be a virtue but waiting is a total pain.

TU OP.

Do you plan to run something with bright, fixed, screen elements for thousands of hours with no other content? (like running 2000 hours of CNN or something with the red logo on the screen, or one specific video game for thousands of hours with the brightness cranked up).

If so, you might want to avoid an OLED set.

If not, burn in is an imaginary issue. See the testing from rtings where it took thousands of hours of such content to cause visible issues

I'm approaching 5000 hours on my C6...used as my primary desktop PC display, for games, movies, and TV. 0 burn in.

Man it's frustrating that they added an extra deal on the B9s but didn't change the C9s...

So the question is, does anyone think the C9 is worth it at $350 more?

EDIT: So I talked with Costco support and the woman in the chat said, and I quote: "I don't know if the price will drop but you can keep checking the website, I know black Friday and Cyber Monday we will have sales."

I don't know if this representative doesn't know that Costco already announced their sales, or if she was suggesting that the prices are subject to change randomly. It's making it very difficult to *not* just jump on this deal and return it if the C9 goes down at some point.

Isn't the C9 just a better processor and that's it?

Has better speakers as well IIRC. As well as generally producing a better picture, theoretically, with that better processor.

The problem I have is that my warehouse carries only the C9, so do I want the better processor and ease of access for $350 more? IDK...

I only saw the C9 at my local Costco as well. Seems strange they wouldn't include the 100 dollar gift card on the more expensive model.

Interesting to see that cash card incentive is getting popular. I think it helps retailers to avoid price adjustments for large number of sales during holiday season.

That was my exact same comment. They just dropped the price $100 overnight and increases the cash card to 100 from 50.

Seems most of the reviewers claim the c9 is slightly better but tough to actually tell the difference.... So much so that they tell you to save the $150 and buy the b9.

Depends on how analytical you are.

I wanted an OLED from Costco with a 7 year warranty (using their Citi card). I don't know when the c9 will drop in price but if it does (significantly) I'll return the b9 and get the c9.

The free extended warranty and cash card is the real deal here.

I have a feeling they are wanting to dump stock of the B9 from their website given that they dumped the B9s from the warehouse around October... Makes me a little nervous to get an item from Costco.com given that if I have to replace it and they don't carry it anymore, I'll just get refunded and have to buy a new TV all together.

I ordered mine standing in front of the C9 for that reason. Couldn't justify the extra $350 of the C9. Now I'll have to wait. Patience is a lost art these days.

They give the free Square Trade for the C9 as well. Just this stupid ass cash card is the difference and Costco lowering the B9 overnight but not the C9 is obnoxious. I want incentives to buy the more expensive TV, not the cheaper one...

From what I read the B9 will not be getting the gsync update like the C9 so perhaps besides the processor it could be left out on a few features...
This is incorrect. The entire like of B9, C9 and E9 have received the update.

Yup you're right, initially Nvidia said only E9 C9 so it's cool it trickled down:

We recently announced a partnership with LG that brings G-SYNC Compatible support to their big-screen 2019 4K C9 and E9 OLED TVs, enabling GeForce gamers to enjoy comfy couch gaming without tearing, stuttering, or VSync input lag, for a superior experience.
