This V7 cleaned the shit out of my apartment. I almost threw up when I dumped the trash from it. I thought I kept a clean house.

The only reason the V7 has slightly better battery life than the V6 is because it is less powerful.

Power goes
V11 > V10 > V8 > V6 > V7

Value Goes
V10 > V11 > V8 > V6 > V7

Value is subjective, and it's certainly not that easy or straightforward. Whether you need more power really depends on your floors. If you have a moderate size house with all hard floors you're not really going to benefit from getting a v10 over a v7 fluffy - the soft rollers do an amazing job even on low power suction.

v10 is relatively big/awkward to use as a "dust buster" type vacuum if you want to clean upholstery or stairs with the mini motorhead.. but yes - if you have carpet and want effective cleaning, you probably want the v10, or even better, the v11.

So, the V6 fluffy with no tools for $150 (taxes offset after the 10% eBay bucks back) or this?

I think I'm leaning towards this. Damnit Dyson, put it all out there at once!

I disagree. Their "tools" aren't really another motorhead. Compatible tools are actually on sale at amazon for $20 for a set.

v7 fluffy has hepa filtration (the $150 v6 deal didn't) and it's easier to empty. I have the v7 fluffy and I'd recommend spending the extra ~$50. Better battery life too.

The V10 Absolute was just $360 last week with a free $150 Dok. It is better than the V7 in every way. Much more power, better battery life, bigger dust bin, easier to empty, better weight balance, better attachments (torque drive instead of direct drive), better cleaning, and V10 batteries have upgraded cells and are rated for 15 years. For $160 more, you get a ton more value.

The V7 is the absolute worst value in the entire Dyson lineup. It has the same motor and battery as the V6. The only difference between the two is that the V7 is 25% less powerful in low power mode and that lower power increased the runtime by 4 minutes. There is absoultly no reason to ever buy a V7 over a V6 or V8.

Still - V7 with the $20 tools vs. V6 without, same head on both.

Sounds like the HEPA filtration and additional battery life might be worth the extra $65.

The battery life on the V6 in low mode is 16 minutes and V7 is 20 minutes. It achieves the 4 extra minutes on low mode by operating the motor at 25% less power than the V6. On high mode both have 6 minutes of run time.
