My lovely fiancé had the ninja blender when we moved it. I had a refurb vitamix I picked up for $200 a few years back. I tried the ninja out of curiosity to see how it compared and promptly determined it was an abomination. There are plenty of decent budget blenders out there that perform far better than the ninja. Ive had breville and oster units over the years and both were solid. If you can save for a refurb or open box deal on a blentec or vitamix you'll be an extra happy smoothie making fool. Just my random blender experience.

Saw that one too. Both have the same motor 1200w but yesterday that I was able to open it up...Wow....this bad boy looks so slick!...ill go for the ct680 due to the fact that is the same hardware just different design and functionality.

The higher wattage ninja is not too bad, I think 1500w.
But yes, I agree the Vitamix is overall a much better blender. I have one handed down to me from my grandparents. Back then Vitamix sold them door-to-door and they had a payment plan for them since the cost was high.
