Not going to buy this, but Rosewill [rosewill.com] deserve their due respect for starting bringing unjustified, astronomically high Cherry MX-based keyboards' prices down years ago:

Bought one recently from Amazon at the same price. So far, the keyboard works great for me with its heavy weight and simple but elegant design. Actually it feels like Filco as they pretty much use the same production line. I would definitely recommend this keyboard, especially at this low price.

Is this good for gaming, or do non gaming keyboards have latency?

? there's no latency, would be fine for gaming. Recommend testing out the different Cherry MX keys though (anywhere that sells gaming keyboards) to find which you prefer.

Red (smooth, non tactile, less force) is less common than Brown (smooth, tactile) and Blue (clicky, tactile).

I have all and currently use red as my primary, but I do see myself occasionally double tapping A accidentally due to the low force. Might switch back to brown or blue for a bit.

I got the brown version of this about 3 years ago, and I'm still loving it! Great all around keyboard for gaming and working.

Typing on this kb right now, I would neither recommend or not recommend it. I think it's an ok kb but nothing outstanding.

I have had bad experiences with clone switches I would always stick with cherry switches though.

I have 3 of these (blue, red, black switches) and they've been great for ~7 years. Would absolutely recommend at this price.

I use the red for gaming and the switches have light activation pressure and respond well for gaming. They are also good for typing, buy I prefer blues because they're more tactile.

Hey guys, I'm just getting back into gaming. I need a backlit keyboard bright enough for my 54 year old eyes to see and prefer for the keys not to make a ton of noise. I see a bunch of keyboards on sale at Newegg, any suggestions? https://www.newegg.com/d/Rosewill...-2177-3523

I'm willing to pay a bit more for another brand but prefer not to pay a huge premium, let's say 80 bucks or less.

TIA,
Duke

Thank you for the tip. If anyone is reading, it looks like Amazon.com has it for $49.99 as well.
