YMMV - Appliance sale - up to 40% off + up to $600 off + stack with 11% rebate in some areas - Home Depot or Lowe’s

First post. Home Depot and Lowe's are currently running their Black Friday sales with up to 40% off.

Twice per year (Black Friday and 4th of July) they have promos where you get up to $600 off with purchase of 6 appliances. ($600 off purchase price at Home Depot, $600 in form of gift card at Lowe's).

It becomes slick if you live near a Menard's where there's an 11% rebate ending TODAY that HD and Lowe's will match. Home Depot rebate is linked below. Rebate form lists all participating stores. Lowe's you may need to ask in-store if your store is matching.

Also YMMV, but I believe HD and Lowe's have (had?) a policy where they price match + beat competitors by 10%. I couldn't find the policy online except on their Canadian website, so I'm not sure if it changed. Worth a shot if you happen to find something at HD for $1998 and Lowe's for $1999. I did this 2 years ago and they dropped the price 10% even though the competitor was only $1 less.

I'm going out later today to purchase 6 appliances for a house we're building. If there are any other popular stacks that would help, let us know!

Following additional discounts apply based on number of appliances purchased:
6 appliances = $600
5 appliances = $300 (HD) $400 (Lowes)
4 appliances = $200 (HD) $250 (Lowes)
3 appliances = $100 (HD) $150 (Lowes)
2 appliances = $50 (HD) $75 (Lowes)

My apologies for not stating that more clearly. (Edit: actually stated pretty clearly in the second line of the original post that the $600 was for 6 appliances.)

You are correct, you won't be able to go in and buy a $600 stove and get $600 off in case that's what you were expecting Confused

You can however get a washer and dryer that retail for $1000 and are on sale for $600 each. Pay $1200, get an additional $50 off, then get $132 rebate.

Or, in my case, I have the following picked out:

Refrigerator - 3099
Stove - 1099
Dishwasher - 899
Microwave - 459
Washer - 1099
Dryer - 1099

Total - $8213 with parts and installation. Savings of $4025 for a total of 49% off. Then another 11% rebate after the fact....

Yes, appliances typically have sales all the time. Usually closer to the 10%-30% off range. and stacking with an additional 11% off only comes around every so often.

last year they had the same sale, but in addition on Thanksgiving day (only that day) they added an ADDITIONAL rebate on top of this rebate. I think I got an additional $250 on top of the other $250 giftcard for 4 appliances.

Lowe's in my area has two rebates on appliances. One is a Lowe's that starts at $75 for two appliances (the one mentioned in this post), another seems to be brand-specific if you buy more than two, probably 4 or 5 kitchen items. I saw Samsung, LG, and Whirpool/Kitchenaid rebates. I'm not looking for more than two, so I don't remember all the details. If you're in the market, or on the fence, all the info is on the product page right below the price if it applies to that appliance. It's the same link as the Lowe's "Plus, up to $600 in Rebates".

What I'm waiting for is to see if they'll do the same 15% back on all purchases in the form of Lowe's gift cards as they did last thanksgiving day. I bought most of what I needed at the time for a bathroom. This year it'll be a few more big ticket items if they do it. If not I'll shop around Home depot for the construction materials, and everywhere for the appliances.

still searching for the Lowe's rebate match
I don't know if you're doing this in person or over the internet. Two things: Sometimes in person they'll take care of that price matching more easily. The other is my note about the various Brand-specific rebates at Lowes. I wasn't sure if you'd seen those.

As far as the price match at Lowe's though, last time I tried that they didn't do the extra 10%, I think because of the rebate but I don't remember. That was years ago. Now I don't see that anywhere on their site so I'm thinking they changed their policy and don't do the extra 10% at all like Home Depot does. Maybe there will be a sign in store though. The picture I found online (from some junk blog site) is from 2014 and says they will match it plus take off an additional 10%, but if it is a "Percent off sale" they won't take the extra 10% off. So check the sign in-store and if it still says that (or worse) please let us know!

I struck out. My local Home Depot doesn't allow the 11% rebate on appliances that are already on sale and my Lowe's is matching the rebate at all this time. Lowe's rep said they no longer beat by 10% either, just price match.

Next idea: I was at my local Simon Mall picking up Visa gift cards for MS. I saw a sign saying they are offering a $10 MasterCard gc when you purchase $100 Lowe's gc. I'll have to go back tomorrow and see if they will let me purchase 40 of them. Lol.

Thanks for the info on last year's Black Friday (day of) sales. I'll probably wait until then since I don't have to rush now. And keep an eye out for gc deals in the mean time.

That's what I do too (buy 10% off GC), have close to $2000 still from MS since last year. Samsung Pay is where I usually go, but Newegg & Staples have done it too. But Samsung Pay is $50 value a pop, and I think there's some sort of limit on how many GC you can use on Lowes.com, which is where I used to buy everything when their coupons were easy to get. That's still an option for you too, maybe, the coupons available through eBay for Lowe's. Not sure what the current state of those are though. You should check their rebate limitations such as if you can buy the appliances on separate purchases. Last year's site-wide 15% off did let me make multiple purchases and get that on all (limit was like $500 back I think). Oh, and you had to be a My Lowe's member.

I was planning on doing it in-store, but without the 11% rebate it wouldn't matter. Online would be nice for a small portal bonus, but I would have to see how many gift cards are allowed. Probably not 40 of them so I'll have to ask in store to make sure they will.

The 15% off would be great, but would end end up losing about $275 of the $600 off by splitting it. Would have to do one transaction for the kitchen (4 appliances for 3k, $450 off (15%) and $250 Lowe's gc from the promo) then a second for the washer/dryer with $75 gc for 2 appliances. So $325 in gc vs $600 but an extra $600 savings if I can get 15% of 4k.

You said the 15% was site wide last year, so was it online only or did they also have it in-store as well?

Just online, Thanksgiving day itself only.

Thanks. Was able to use this with menards. Had the fridge and dishwasher i wanted on sale +11%. But used home depot as competitor to save $50 and get free delivery. Might not be the slickest deal, but a good deal on *specific* appliances.

Black Friday
I picked up an "open box" Samsung Washer and dryer for $488 (for both).
Open box in that there was no cardboard, the units were well packed in styrofoam and strapping.
