Good price but i don't care for these bits. With the auger tip they are very aggressive and cannot be backed off to avoid making a mess on the back side. I know, some will say with rough framing who cares ...

You could just stop before you blow completely though and come back from the other side....

Due to the aggressiveness of the self feeding tip, compared to normal spade bits, it is harder to stop before blowing through the other side. But spade bits in general, and especially ones like these, are typically used by electricians and plumbers to quickly punch holes in places that will never be seen behind sheetrock.

For finer work where the holes will be visible, the self feed is a detriment and normal spade bits work better, but the best results would be accomplished with a Forstner bit.

I have both these and some without the auger tip. These are great, but if I am doing a blind hole I tend to avoid them
