He is not trolling. The picture is of a "right handed" circular saw and if you check dewalt's website, they don't even make a left handed flexvolt 60volt version. They do have a worm drive style that is left handed but that is not one of the ones in this deal. So all the people that buy this and are upset because they get a right handed saw should be mad at you?
So you are telling me the blade on this saw is on the left side of the saw? I am so confused right now....

I hadn't realized the saw blade is on the right side on my Dewalt DCS570 till this thread so I looked at my other circular saws. I have some Craftsman & Ryobi both corded and a Makita cordless worm drive. All of those have the blade on the left which would be considered a saw for the right handed.

As a right hander it is easier to see a line you're trying to follow with the blade on the left then on the right.

Correct, that's why people are referring to it as a left handed saw.

Nothing like a visual. The Makita is a right hand saw. The Dewalt is a left hand saw.

I suppose that depends what your real world usages are.

As others have pointed out, no such thing as a right hand and left hand saw... the Makita saw in your picture is a worm drive saw - look how far back the handle is set.

All saws are generally designed with right handed people in mind, since they're the large majority of customers in the world.

I don't feel like typing the reasons why, so read this which about sums it up as to why they're designed differently- https://www.protoolreviews.com/ne...ade/31191/

Guys, honest question - why do I need a 60V circular saw when I already have a 20V dewalt circular saw?

Only you can answer that one. I want one too and I already have a lot of saws. I like tools so I buy them. Get a FlexVolt battery for your 20v, it makes a difference.

Isn't it true that the one who dies with the most toys wins? lol Applause

I put "right hand" in quotes because yes you can use either hand as I sometimes do with my saws but if the blade is on the right of the motor that's what we call it. Traditional skil saws were always or mostly on the right so that's what a lot of tradesman got used to. You have it backwards but whatever, I'm out.

I was a professional carpenter and perhaps it depends on which coast you're on, I don't know. I do know however I have heard it referred to as left or right hand by others Thats what we called it.. Oh and btw my boss used to refer to any circular saw as a skil saw when mine wasn't. Kind of like calling any copy machine a Zerox machine.

You of course are right because you want to be, but whatever Bash

I got the 60v plus 20v grinder kit for $299 from HD back in Feb 2019. Looks like they raised the price by $30 for the holiday season.

If you don't need it now might as well wait as the prices will fall.
