Bought one, Thanks! Hopefully it lasts. Some of the reviews really love it and others complain of the plug getting hot or being difficult to clean. Anyone here have experience with this?

Design flaw? ...I'm pretty sure the biggest design flaw is the dog's chops dripping water for 2 minutes after they drink water. Being an owner of 2 great Danes and a Lab its something you get used to and if you have the ability you dont put it in high traffic areas....

I really want to jump on this item at this price but I wish it held more water. I've owned dogs my whole life and the 2 great Danes I have right now drink 2 times the amount of water as a Mastiff I used to own ever drank. I find Great Danes to be terribly inefficient creatures. They also eat way more than most dogs in their weight class. I fill a 5 gallon bucket and it is gone at the end of the second day. From what I'm reading in the reviews you can't buy the replacement filters in bulk and they're about $2 a piece so just make sure to keep that in mind when buying this. It also seems to be a project to pull it apart and clean it properly. I think I'll just stick to rotating out the two 5 gallon buckets I currently use. I leave the bucket not in use outside in direct sunlight to be fully dried out before refilling it. The UV rays help kill any bacteria growing and then I just give it a quick wipe down before I refill it.

This looks neat, but I'm pretty sure my dumb golden would be terrified of this. He has an irrational fear of anything mechanical, even if it doesn't make noises...
