Staples has the Microsoft Surface Go 10" 8GB 128GB, model MCZ-00001 on sale for $399.00 Doesn't include the type cover or any other accessories, but at $399 for the 8GB 128GB, it's a decent price, especially if you don't want to take a chance on missing out on a deal on Black Friday.

I price matched at Best Buy through their online chat without an issue.

If only the battery life on this thing wasn't so terrible. I enjoyed mine, it ran very well. Just battery life was very weak.

I keep debating between this and a m3 pixel slate for general consumption and once in a while with a keyboard. Leaning pixel slate. Any feedback?

$450 with keyboard and pen for pixel slate on BF. Just order online for delivery. Don't battle the store.

Yeah that's the deal I'm aiming for. So you'd recommend the slate?

Yes. Nicer screen and far nicer sound reproduction.

Can't speak for the Pixel Slate but I got the Surface Go last year because I wanted to be able to run Windows and for that I really enjoy it. I hashed out some pros/cons that may be helpful (for the Go):

Pros:
- Full Windows experience
- Awesome, crisp display
- Keyboard / kick-stand work fantastically: can be used comfortably in your lap, sitting at a desk, on a plane, etc; keyboard is also very comfortable to type on for a device of this size (my biggest worry when I purchased it because it was replacing my laptop) - I probably use the keyboard about half the time
- Front-facing speakers sound surprisingly good

Neutral:
- Price point: I bought the Surface Go, Pen, and Keyboard last year during BF season and spent ~$600 total
- Not the most powerful device so need to be mindful of how many applications are open (I tend to keep a lot of tabs open, which can impact performance) - I put this as neutral rather than con because I expected that going in (it's essentially a dumbed down Surface Pro)

Cons:
- As someone mentioned, battery life leaves a lot to be desired; I can probably get 3-4 hours out of it but expect more for a device in this class and at this price (this may be a dealbreaker for some and probably the biggest argument for the m3 pixel slate IMO)
- Windows store: lackluster; there were specific apps I wanted to use for that tablet-like/app experience but found that many don't exist. For example, there's no Prime video app so you have no way to download Prime videos on-the-go but there IS a Netflix app that supports downloads

From what I know about the m3 pixel slate, the keyboard isn't as comfortable and you're obviously picking Chrome OS over iOS (iPad) or Windows (Surface Go). It's also even more expensive than the fully decked Go. I have a Pixel 2 phone and generally enjoy Google devices (though I always wait several months after release because they have a history of hardware issues with their phones at launch). I personally didn't want another android/chrome device so that was perhaps the largest deciding factor, if that fits what you want then the higher price point might be worth it for the better battery life and app experience.

PS: If you do go with the Surface Go make sure you get the 8GB RAM version (I believe that's what's linked here) for best performance

I had this model for three weeks. Mostly ran ok, definitely no gaming capabilities. I bought this to surf the web/watch movies, and it was fine for that except the random crashing and rebooting Chrome/Edge that really threw me off. Ended up with a Surface Pro tablet instead, which is noticeably bigger but still very portable. USB-C charging was also very slow with the Go in my experience.

I have the pro 3. Would this be an upgrade worth of it? Mostly my battery is showing its Age and there is no way to change it.

How is it as a lay-in-bed media player? Can it handle 4K content?

This is the 8GB 128GB version AKA the one you actually want if you plan on using Windows 10.

As for the pixel slate, I read it's heavy and has speaker distortion/crackle. Not sure if they ever fixed it. It's the reason I didn't jump on that BB deal awhile back.
