The 18v is only $9 more. Further, the battery can be used for any Ryobi 18v tool (for which there are a lot).

That is a contrasting experience for myself and many others. I received an order confirmation from them but have not heard back since. Was over one week ago. I'm not in a rush to receive them but it's quite ridiculous that in 2019, a lack of communication still exists from some companies considering customer service is highly valuable.

If you have other Ryobi 18v tools or plan to, here is a 1/2" drill driver tool only for $15.99 shipped.

Great price! As a Ryobi fan it's a shame they haven't expanded on their 12v line. Seems their value would make a big dent in the small tool market. Thanks for the deal OP!

The parent company of Milwaukee also owns Ridgid and Ryobi. An expanded Ryobi 12V line would likely cannibalize sales from the massive Milwaukee one.

This place often sells the 18v line at deep discounts which i would hold out for since the 18v line is huge. I ordered a couple of tools for less than $20 each a week ago, tool only but I have lots of batteries.

Also note this site is notoriously show to ship.

Home Depot also had some great deals on Ryobi 18v

Would only consider the 18v one + items.

I have a One+ drill (plus a huge deWalt hammer drill), but 12V tools are great for when you don't need the heavier one.

I've been missing my Craftsman Nextec that died, so thanks OP for posting this one.

I sold my nextec tools on ebay last week for about a $200 profit over what I originally paid. Have been taking advantage of the Milwaukee M12 deals and expand on the one rt angle driver I had. The Milwaukee tools are so much nicer. Highly recommend you build on those and not this.
I'm sure they're nice, but they're not $20, and I'm not looking for anything past a drill in 12V. I'd have replaced the Nextec, but as you noticed the resale prices are high. I think Sears screwed up by discontinuing it. But when hasn't Sears screwed up.

If you're just thinking about the one tool, then no. If you're thinking along the lines of the system and using other tools, you're not far off on a per tool basis. Just depends if that's the only 12v tool you'll use or if you'd utilize others.

With Lowes or whoever taking over Craftsman power tools, it would've been nice to see them keep going.
