Real facts is a lot of folks who were upset about "reused" models came off overly entitled and immature, especially on Twitter. Because the game doesn't satisfy their demands, the path of toxicity/negativity becomes acceptable? How dare GameFreak, a relatively small studio, for not appeasing every single Pokemon fan with a new generational release.

Folks just don't understand or care how games are made, the hellish crunch game developers often undergo, and thanks to the Internet, be vocally aggressive to the studio because they aren't happy over something that is ultimately unimportant to the overall experience. You want best models and graphics? Buy a PC/PS4/Xbox because the Switch ain't exactly a powerhouse. Can't get Pokemon elsewhere? Buy a Swi- oh wait, but the models suck for every game you compare to the aforementioned consoles.. so.. don't?

As for the Roku bug, it goes both ways in terms of accountability. As one of the posters noted in the comments in the link below: "While I agree the likelihood of this happening is pretty low, "astronomically low" is a pretty big exaggeration. There are 65535 TCP/UDP ports to pick from. With all of the network applications out there, it is actually pretty likely that there will be collisions. It sounds like Roku did a poor job of making sure the device broadcasting on that port was another Roku device, and crashed when it didn't get the data it expected."

Roku has been sending out updates to resolve the issue. But let's solely blame GameFreak because they're apparently a greedy company who purposely released an unfinished game to take advantage of newcomers and veteran players, both young and old, of their money. Imagine that, a game meant for a wide ranging audience but because of a peculiar moot complaint, the game is deemed a money grab.

At the end of the day, do you; you buy it or you don't. But I disagree with the two of you enough to hopefully shed some light for people who are on the fence on whether to buy this or not. Your attempt to put down and dissuade people from enjoying this game cannot go unchecked. Personally, my friends and I are enjoying the game for what it is. A Pokemon video game that lets you get your mind out away from day to day life and experience a wonderful adventure.

Yeah -- my argument is that they could have easily partnered up with a well-known RPG developer for their first console main series Pokemon game or at least hired more people for the job. They lied about making the models from scratch, the game has bad framerate issues (especially in the Wild Area), it is considerably shorter than most Pokemon games, and the forced Exp. Share feature means that there is no challenge whatsoever. I don't have a single badge yet and my Pokemon can plow through any trainer with ease.

Also, development didn't start until late 2017. They're so greedy and/or pressured to push out a Game Freak-developed Pokemon game each year, that the quality continues to decrease.

Yes, those poor, poor developers of the most profitable media franchise on earth simply can't afford the resources to make a quality game that is up to current generation standards.

Really tempting, but I just ordered Luigi's Mansion from them yesterday. Not sure when I'll actually get around to playing this.

Not too shabby. Hopefully the Region-Free version works on USA stuff just like the one I'd get from a local shop.

for those who are gamers and buy this, which version of the Pokemon versions would you recommend?

Most people play sword for the exclusive Pokemon like 80% is buying sword. So shield will have more friend to trade.

Just finished Shield. I got it because it was going to arrive on release day and Sword was not. Don't think there is any reason for me to get sword now. Its a departure from classic pokemon, but was still very enjoyable. Occupied almost my whole weekend happily.

Amazon prime also does a $10 credit for buying from them. Doesn't come for 32-35 days from game delivery though. Works on both digital and hard copy. so $48.99 (if you are patient) through amazon for sword hard copy right now with prime shipping for those eligible. https://smile.amazon.com/Pokemon-...r=8-2&th=1
