2TB Samsung T5 Portable External USB 3.1 SSD $249.99 @Various Retailers

Several Retailers have lowered the price of the 2TB Samsung T5 Portable External USB 3.1 SSD (MU-PA2T0B/AM) from $299.99 down to $249.99 ($50 Savings), and B&H has it for slightly less at $247.99 (limited quantities available).

B&H [bhphotovideo.com] $247.99 (limited quantities available)
Amazon [amazon.com] $249.99
Newegg [newegg.com] $249.99
Samsung [samsung.com] $249.99

If you need an Internal SSD they also have the 2TB Samsung 860 EVO on sale as well for $229.99. I figured that since several people were asking in the other thread about external SSD Drives that I would let you know about this sale going on as well for an external SSD for only $20 more than the internal version (which is about what the external enclosure would end up costing anyway).
Good deal?

I have a few of these and this is the lowest I've seen on this Samsung T5 SSD 2TB.

These work great for transporting active data from home and work.

Normally priced at $299 this is a 17% off regular pricing

I guess Samsung is expecting people to buy alot of PC parts for Cyber Monday / Black Friday and they figure that the early bird gets the worm when it comes to sales LMAOLMAO if they wait until black friday people might buy a competitor and then not want to buy a 2nd SSD.

can the x5 even be much faster in real use since it's still limited by usb? I guess it's for those who have thunderbolt? Btw speaking of thunderbolt... I don't even know how to get it when building a pc. I thought it just meant 3.2 gen 2 type c, but apparently not?

edit: actually the more I think about it regular 3.1 gen 2 type c still handles faster than even an nvme ssd can do... Still, though, the x5 is so crazily expensive, even if they had a 50% off sale it STILL would cost about double of the t5.

Warning, dont install the samsung software on a MAC. The newest version is screwed up. If you update it you will NOT be able to use the drive in your MAC. Use it as is. PC works fine.

The faulty MAC software doesnt brick the drive, but until they fix it your MAC will load only a tiny partition that it "sees". Again, you can use the the drive in your MAC, just dont install the newest software.

I've been waiting for the deal of a Samsung T5 2TB. Lots of comments above mentioned Black Friday. Any guess for the Black Friday price of the 2TB T5?

Sadly only on the internal drive but not the external

Heres the thread with the 500gb internal version: https://slickdeals.net/f/13576633-samsung-860-evo-500gb-internal-sata-solid-state-drive-model-mz-76e500b-am-59-99your-price-for-this-item-is-59-99-save-40-the-previous-price-was-99-99?src=frontpage

Edit: Nevermind it looks like that deal just ended as soon as I posted the link

But there is always a return option if you find a better deal
