Can't be shipped to California due to too much LEAD!
14 Helpful?
It is very spicy (and I'm Indian though don't eat much spicy food anymore)

I would recommended sauteing an onion before adding the sauce/chicken. I also add yogurt / sour cream to tone down the spice.

This may sound weird, but I'll throw a little sugar in as well. It adds subtle sweetness that seems to be missing in the box vs "fresh" butter chicken and it also helps with the spiciness.

It is good though and saves me an hour vs making from scratch

Question:
Why can't this item be shipped to California?
Answer:
I used to eat products from this brand all the time, so I did some digging. Here is what I found: https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/p...1S5925.pdf
It looks like they got dinged under prop 65 for having TOO MUCH LEAD in the food? That's pretty messed up. Frankly, I wouldn't order this food anymore if I was in any state, until it goes on sale in California again.

Yeah but disneyland also has signs posted everywhere saying the resort contains chemicals known to the state of CA to be carcinogens so...I'm not entirely sure I'm on board with everything California tells me is gonna kill me.

More importantly, complaints in reviews about getting 1 instead of 6, so who knows?

1) What is "too much"?
2) Prop 65 is idiotic and just about everything has a prop 65 warning on it

Rather than rely on prop 65, I would look into it and see. Lead is naturally occurring in just about all food, especially fruits and vegetables.

In regards to prop 65 and lead in food: https://redmond.life/prop65/compa...te-fruits/

Bingo. Prop 65 is more nonsense to funnel money to California's govt. As mentioned above it is just about on everything.

Thanks - would you say this is at least reminiscent of authentic sauce/spices? I keep trying to find a quicker solution to making butter chicken, vindaloo or tikka masala at home, but can't find anything nearly as good as the India places in my town.

Ironic/creepy because I literally just took a packet of the Kitchens of India - Tikka Masala down from my cupboard to try again tonight about 10 minutes ago (I'm sure Alexa, Siri, and whatever other apps in my house are watching me).
