LAVIEW 25% off code BF2019

+22 Deal Score

Coupon code BF2019 is now working on their site which takes 25% off. Some notable items are the Saturn series (Dahua OEM) cameras.

Coupon code works on clearance items as well.

WARNING: In the past Laview's site was hacked which caused quite a few buyers to have their cc compromised. Proceed with caution.

2pk of 5MP bullet cameras with IVS, etc for $109.50 making it $54.75 for each camera. (Free shipping above $49 and I wasn't charged tax either)

Looks to be the same as the dahua model IPC-HFW1531S

warning!

WARNING: If you used (or attempted to use) a Debit or Credit Card to purchase from their site I highly advise cancelling the card ASAP.

Today I was hit with over $1,100 in charges from Cricket Wireless on a virtual credit card that I had only ever used on their site (and was declined). It was declined for unrelated reasons (funded from wrong account) so I ended up actually paying through PayPal. I used the card on their site on the 4th of this month.

As I mentioned in the OP, folks have been complaining about the issues with LaView's site being hacked in other threads. I tried being safe by using a virtual credit card that would look down to the first merchant it was used at. Since in this case the charge at LaView originally didn't go through it never got locked to that merchant. I really should have closed it down but simply forgot...

The "site wide" coupon code doesn't seem to work on the few Ubiquiti products I tried. I'm getting an error message "Coupon code "BF2019" is not valid"

Hi fantomas

Does not surprise me. LaView isn't always as clear as they should be on their deals.

Hi BlackBeardPirate -

Yes, expect to see quite a number of deals published by them as well as a few by Newegg on LaView kits. Don't recall many deals on LaView kits by Amazon last year - perhaps I just missed them.

Also expect a number of deals from other brands as well as vendors on cameras and kits.

( Should see a flood of deals Thanksgiving week and the following cyberweek )

Thanks. I need to get new cameras even though I just got it about 6 months ago. Basically, I got domes and I'm in spider/creepy crawlyville, FL and there's just too much maintenance with the dome cams. I should have gone bullet cams. But now I'm not sure if my 4k Laview NVR can handle the nicer Saturn series cameras I want to upgrade to. So now I might have to get a whole new system. But I'll gladly get a whole new system and not have to run those wires again 😬 thank the heavens for POE though

I bought LaView Cameras, hung them up under a protected eve, and I have been very dissatisfied with there quality... The cameras fail intermittently at first then Hard Down. I hard wired them with Ethernet and POE switch.... I have replaced everything 3 times and at least 6-7 cameras- it keeps coming down to their product and poor quality - Dont buy these

Hi BlackBeardPirate

The bugs are attracted to the IR light, so cameras where there is an IR ring around the lens tend to be more problematic vs models with 1-2 larger IR leds. Better yet is turning IR light off on the camera and using an external IR led light.

btw - The Saturn line are Dahua OEM so may not play as well with some of the Hikvision OEM NVRs.

What do you all think about this system? 6 cameras, 8 channel, 5MP, 1 TB HD

Already on sale from $549.00 to $419.00 and will stack with the coupon to make it $314.25.

I would get an NVR system instead of a DVR system you linked. NVR means Network video recorder and are IP based digital camera vs the system you linked which is analog. The cameras are connected and powered by one Ethernet cable. You can easily stream and remote view once connected to a network. A 4 camera LaView NVR system will run you about $350-$400 when on sale. I bought mine from Newegg about 4 years ago and never had a problem.

Interesting. I was thinking of getting 940nm flood lights to augment the IR lights, so this may be doable. I would have to find the option to turn off the IR lights first though. Would I still have to wipe down the dome cams with the same frequency though? I think the stuff I'm wiping down is bug stuff, not necessarily dust, but I'm not certain because they look pretty clean when I look at them - but on the screen they look pretty bad. Seems like I have to do it every 3 weeks to keep the image clear enough and I just don't want that kind of maintenance.
