Neato Botvac Connected D3 Pro Robot Vacuum - $199.99 + Free Shipping

Walmart has the Neato Botvac Connected D3 Pro Robot Vacuum on sale for $199.99 and includes free shipping.

This robot is a laser-guided robot, so it actually maps out a floor plan and doesn't just clean in a random pattern. It can connect to WiFi and works with Google Assistant/Alexa. I have one of these, and I can say that they're absolutely great after the initial firmware update.

The D3 doesn't have a little side brush like the D5 (and higher), but if you don't have a lot of corners in your house you probably won't notice a difference. Works well on both hardwood and low pile carpets.

Based on some quick research, the Pro version is the same as the regular D3 but comes with a better filter and some extras.

One difference I learned between the D3 and higher models is that not only does it have a smaller battery, it also has a slower charger. It's over 2 hours to charge between cleaning. I was thinking of putting the larger battery in mine but now I'm realizing it would take almost 9 hours to vacuum my house. The battery it comes with is too small to completely vacuum my living spaces during a cleaning cycle (it goes back to recharge up to 2x during a cleaning cycle).

The D series have the same charger and use the same base.
The D3 works with the standard D series battery.
One strategy is to immediately sell the D3 battery on Ebay and buy the standard battery.

Here is a link to the standard battery

On OP's deal be sure and click the box to add the 22 dollar 3 year warranty.

This increases the price of the vac by $70. You may as well wait for model with the better battery to go on sale.

And the reviews on that battery are completely hit or miss.

It's probably all software. The D3 also only has one suction power while the D4 above also have a eco mode to extend battery run time.

About to pull the trigger on this but I don't usually purchase extended protection. Do you think it's advisable here? Do they just swap out for a new one if anything goes wrong? What are the details.

I ordered one on Sunday (my second D3 and fifth Neato since 2011). It shipped and should be at my home by Thursday.

This is the same price I paid for one about a year ago on Woot (non-pro model though).

d3 pro has terrible quality control...the bin full sensor button (under the bin lid) is a hit or miss, if your d3 constantly errors out due to "empty bin..." message, most likely the weight sensitive sensor is stuck (that's why they tell you to repeatedly press it, its a cheap weight sensor)

Agreed. I get that error more than I'd like. It's very frustrating!

Also frustrating is how it always disconnects from wi-fi. When I go through the process to reset it, the D3 won't connect to the Neato server. Sometimes it takes an hour of trying before I can get it to connect.

I bought mine in October and plan on returning it - although when I submit the return online, it doesn't let me get a refund for the protection plan.
