12 select bonus audiobooks (1 per month).
No commitment. Cancel anytime and keep all your audiobooks.

Offer available for a limited time. Offer is not available to existing Audible members. You will receive a one year Audible Gold Membership that includes 12 credits and 12 bonus audiobooks selected by Audible and 2 Audible Originals per month from a changing selection for a total of 48 Audible Titles in all at the discounted price of $135. The payment for this first year will not be refundable after the offer has been redeemed. After the first year, your membership will continue until cancelled at the then current full price (currently $149.50/year) with your designated credit card or another available card on file. Cancel anytime by visiting the Account Details Page. Offer cannot be combined with other offers and is limited to one per customer and Audible account. Audible reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time. If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.

By starting your membership, you agree to our Conditions Of Use and Amazon's Privacy Notice and permit Audible to charge your default card or another card on file. Membership continues until cancelled for $14.95/mo. + taxes. Cancel anytime via Account Details.

I have NO idea what these 12 bonus audible books will be, seems they are selected by Audible themselves, which strikes me as a definite no thanks, but if one is going to get a 1 year membership anyway, this may be a better way to get it.
My link was this when I was signing into my American Express account:

I tried searching for a link not specific to me to no avail, and beyond that link, I'm not sure how else to find it.

Audible's also running a promo called "Gift Brilliantly" with a year for $120. 12 books for $15 isn't terrible even if only 2 of them turn out to be good... I think I'll stick with my current year-long membership until it expires, though, unless we can get one of those killer $100 deals.

Oh, the link to Gift Brilliantly, at least for me, is https://www.audible.com/ep/giftce..._c1_zing_0 . It shows up on my front page after login. (Obviously only for members. Note that my past experience is that gifts can be redeemed by anyone including the giver.)

Maybe i'm missing something, but isn't this a great deal? Admittedly, I have not watched Audible deals closely (save the occasional cheap 3-mo deals), but isn't this giving you two books a month for a one-book-a-month price?

It soundsike you only get to choose one of the books, though. The other one Audible picks for you. So it's great if you like listening to random stuff, but it's not 24 books you pick on your own.

Audible originals have been a letdown. At least with those you can choose the best garbage. Having audible choose seems like a bad idea. I would rather they offer a few free daily deals.

Audible Originals tend to be much shorter than a regular audiobook - some of them are short stories or novellas that only clock in at around an hour. Also, in my experience, a few of them are closer to podcasts than books. I've listened to some where the chapters begin and end with recaps and wrapups in a way that makes me suspect they were originally intended to be podcasts. They were very good, but I would consider them more of a nice bonus and not a extra audiobook.

I didn't vote this up or down. Without knowing what the free books are I'll wait for another year at $100 like I have gotten in the past.

Glad it worked out for you!
Did they already reveal the first 'Audible chosen' book? If so, what was it?

Like others here have mentioned, the idea of them choosing some of the books I get sounds rather horrible to me as I don't trust them to choose a book I give a crap about.

If they have chosen it, can you see if it allows you to return it for a credit, like you can with normal audible credit purchases?

I like the idea - maybe combine the idea where from those random sales they do, you are allowed to choose one of those books each month or every other month for free. The normally $5 books, let you buy those. Maybe create a 'Sale Credit' which is a credit only usable on books on sale for $10 or less or something. That way they can control it somewhat.

Agreed completely.

Yea, I also didn't bite on this deal. It's $35 more for 12 random books I get no say in? Nah, that's not how I work, unless I can then resell them somehow, or gift them to someone. (aka - sell them)

If it gave return rights, then I would TOTALLY buy in ASAP, that would easily be the best deal they ever offered.

I think you can email them and get a year for $100. They have that deal at least once a year, but I've read in those deal threads that people were able to just email support and get the deal outside the official sale time.

I confirmed this list with customer service. And frankly, I am not interested in those books.
