Deal stolen from the other LaView BF2019 25% off site wide thread but I figured this deserved its own listing.

Use Code BF2019

https://www.laviewsecurity.com/one-halo-2.html

A firmware upgrade may be needed for ONVIF compatibility.

The older 1080p model should be $75 with the same code:

Same here - would love to hear more thoughts from SDers who have purchased (or simply more tech savvy than myself)

Laview [amazon.com] vs. Eufy [amazon.com] vs. Amcrest [amazon.com]?

Eufy is a better deal if you don't care about ONVIF compatibility which allows 3rd party DVRs/apps/BlueIris to see the video stream. Based on the manufacturer's responses on Amazon their cam is NOT ONVIF compatible and you must use their app.

*fixed typo, not a Dahua clone and the Eufy camera is different hardware

This is probably the exact same hardware as the Eufy (anothher Dahua clone) but manufacturers change the firmware/software. I'm out of the loop on the doorbell cams. Been looking to replace my skybell since it's been acting up lately. Is this a dahua oem doorbell? I hadn't realized Eufy was a Dahua oem and hadn't been paying much attention.

Was about to snag the 1080p doorbell from Laview till I saw this. trying to figure out if this is worth the extra $$$.

edit: looks to be a hikvision oem. more infor here: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/new...mera.31601

I've been looking at the RCA doorbell camera which appears to be a clone of this LaView, but comes with additional faceplates and angled wedge mounting plates.

One complaint I've seen in the forums is the PIR sensor in the middle looks like a button so visitors often press it and eventually it cracks.

Yeah, I saw that post too. LMAO kind of sucks/poor design but i think it mostly hit people who turned off the doorbell button ring light?

did not know about extra faceplates and angled wedge mount. thanks! are there any other clones of this with the accessories that can be had for less?

also, i'm assuming the rca and hikvision can just be flashed with whichever flavor of firmware is "best" similar to how the previous hikvision doorbell workeD?

It just depends on how carefully someone looks at the doorbell. I currently have the older 1080p version of this doorbell, and visitors sometimes press on the camera lens.

The RCA is the only other clone I've seen sold.

I believe so, but I read that forum thread earlier this summer so I'd have to reread the details again.

I've got the same problem with my skybell. super annoying but really funny watching someone poke at the camera lens

This seems like it has more upside than the eufy only because of the onvif support and the eufy seems to have an issue where it can't integrate with your existing doorbell chime.

Both devices seem to be a little power hungry and weak wifi.

I am currently using a regular Ring so will run that til it breaks.

I just found another clone that was posted a few days, but that deal appears expired at $149 now.

The EZ Viz clone of this cam is still $90 direct from Amazon, latest firmware should have ONVIF (or you can flash LaView's firmware for ONVIF) and has an extra faceplate. Skip my deal!
