Tempted, but a lot of the glowing reviews sound hokey. FakeSpot gives the reviews an "F". If it was through a brick and mortar store I'd try one so I could easily return it.

FWIW this is a slightly upgraded Bugs 2w model if I am not mistaken.... and a decent buy for those looking to get into it, but don't expect super smooth video from a drone that doesn't have a gimbal...

.if it is over the .55lbs needs to be registered....or don't bother most probably do not... do I? Yes yes I do, though I couldn't tell you why I have never seen anyone get checked for registration nor ever even heard of anyone getting checked...

Check the 1 star reviews. Looks like it just randomly flys off.

I had the T25 but wound up returning it. Nice little drone but lack of gimbal and camera quality really killed it. I picked up the mavic mini, theres no comparison and price wise it is way more but worth it to me.

Not a bad deal if you're looking for this drone and cool with blowing $100 to see if the hobby is for you...

That said (and I'm sure this will go over like a fart in church), I'd just pony up the money for a Mavic Mini and call it a day... If you like the hobby, you're going to wind up doing this anyway and you will find that this drone has basically zero resale value... If you don't like the hobby, you'll easily find someone who will take the Mavic Mini off your hands for 2/3+ what you paid for it...

I get that I'm essentially saying "you're better off spending 4x the money", but in my years in the hobby I've learned that you get what you pay for in terms of ease of use and quality when it comes to drones. Don't get me wrong - I'm sure this is fun to play with if you've never played with one before. But I figure most people are going to quickly start pondering why their videos look nowhere near the quality of the cool videos that they see online - which is largely going to be the things that come in a DJI model that doesn't come in these cheap ones (GPS, self-stabilization, obstacle avoidance, 3 axis gimbal, quality photo/video sensor, etc).

There are plenty of people who want a drone for *just flying* and the fun of getting good at rc piloting. This potensic (and almost all the other sub $500 drones) falls into that category. Its for flying and having fun. The mavic mini and all the DJI products and most of the rest of the field of $500+ drones are not for flying, in fact theres almost no flying involved since you just let the GPS and internal pilot do all the work anyway. They are for photography/videography. And they do that really well: the footage from a mavic mini makes footage from this thing look like a 1970's tv cop drama. So yeah I would agree with you there: if you see yourself interested in aerial photography, even a little bit, stay the heck away from drones like this. the footage and stills that you get are going to be absolutely HORRIBLE compared to the DJI products. You will regret it from your first flight, save your money and get a used DJI product with it. If you want to just get out and fly though, this is a decent deal.

If you are going to spend $100 on a drone, look out for the SG907, I've had a number of drones and the SG907 is perfect the best sub $100 drone I've flown
